RC's Spanish bets

Cheers Beanie. You're right, I guess it is too early to draw any kind of conclusions yet from so few bets, but that Primera Liga record makes depressing reading.

Mind you, one thing I am starting to suspect (and you'll know something about this, as you do the same in Scotland ), is that there seems to be money to be made on the lower leagues in Spain (by which I mean Segunda B). Still at a very early and tentative stage there, only 3 bets placed after all, but I'm getting the impression based on what I've seen so far that the bookies only look at the league tables and very little else when pricing it up. Some of the Segunda B sides have decent websites and a bit of digging can turn up team news. Even if it doesn't, just a simple check on the respective teams' home and away records can often be quite enlightening. Shall certainly be looking to turn up a few more bets in the Segunda B between now and the end of the season.

Edit - Reading that back, it could be interpreted as me being less than kind about Scottish football . I do of course mean your Highland league bets

I think that in general that is true - the Betandwin Highland League prices are usually well wide of the mark - and all it takes is 5 minutes sifting through local odds, a little team news and a bit of form to turn up some big winners.

For me its all about the SPL, as after breaking down my bets earlier this season I found that my SPL profits were masking losses in the lower leagues, and since then I've eliminated them from my betting, but I think those losses are down to spending far less time researching the lower leagues more than anything else.
