Slick: blogs on the root

Komp the index.php is not working and a few Joomla directories have disappeared, Shall i remove the rest of the joomla as its only working in bits and pieces?

I think i,m right in thinking that u want wpmu on the root, I'll back up the current setup then try and shift it.

Its still backing up as you insist on intsalling every plugin and theme on the planet, your gonna have to be more selective in future or remove things u don't use as everything takes numerous more times longer to do than usual.

Still downloading, its gonna take even longer to reupload to the root so it may have to wait while the morning.

I'll get back onto this now, just upping back to ftp then i'l have a bash at publishing them in the root.

Nah its not gonna work Komp as i've changed the config files to suit but wpmu is using the db for most of its reference points so i'm getting errors, I've scoured the wpmu forums and nobody has got an answer to the problem without doing a complete re-installation to the root which we want to avoid as we have a few blogs on the go.

I'll go and remove the files i have copied to the root b4 i forget what they are.

Nah the blogs work Wins but not from the .root.

Thinking about it the blogs would get a lot more seo points coming straight off the root, so we have two options here well three if we leave things as they are.

options are....

1) we reinstall the blogs to the root but everybody with a blog has to start afresh.

Pro's...
Clean install and we can remove all the shite that is not needed.
Better SEO recognisation.

Cons..
Blog needs to start from afresh.
More work for me.
TDP frontpage is tied up with wordpress hence no future progress.

2) We buy a Domain name and host it for the blogs.

Pro's
Blog users choose the name
Clean install and we can remove all the shite that is not needed.
Better SEO recognisation.
If it takes off TDP has another high ranking Domain to link from.

Cons..
Blog needs to start from afresh.
More work for me.

3) Blogs remain as they are.

Im sorry winrew i dont have anything to do with the forums anymore as others in charge seem to know better I aint falling out with anyone but i aint gonna work my cnut in sending folks to a forum where folks think all you need to do is stivck threads and then the jobs done. anyhow i aint gonna go on about that.

Thats the option we are after Slick and thats why i moved the Joomla (which still works perfectly for me) We need to turn the main blog into the frontpage and thats it. Why fcuk about using 3 differant things when we can just use the one which is wordpress. aye it might not ook great but we dont need looks. we need practicality.

nah there could be future progress slick with the frontpage as in efect we could just dreamweaver a wp theme. thats where mickey is to come in. im sorry that i never made this clear its just ive benn doing 5 things at once whilst others are scratching their heads asking what theyre suppoed to be doing and not seeing. We can do everything and more with a Wordpress frontpage slick. Everything we need anyhow. Istarted up my blog again here but stopped due to the change. As you can see it's potentially as good as anthing we will have-

sorry folks but i tried my best to connect to the existing db so we could just import the existing blogs over but it kept tripping up the fresh install so i've had to install on a new database.

This will probbaly mean all the blogs will have to be redone but the benefits of it being installed on the root will soon outway this inconvenience as your blogs are now in the root and will now be picked up by search engines and such like and earn seo ranking points for your blog, something that would not have occurred where they are currently situated.

Either myself or Komp will keep u updated as to when u can use the new installation.

nah slick ive saved all the active ones. Its taken me half an hour to do 6 pages of Rocksharks so far but its a small price to pay. as mentioned it's the best way of doing things and it will be good for the future. I will contack napoleon, rockshark etc with new log in details etc.

Everyone else with a non active blog will have to start again though. If they want to that is. As mentioned we had to move to ensure permancy.

I hope Rockshark takes a break from betting or blogging in early December im still in November This is hell on earth. And my computer is buggy and slow and my right arm is numb. I cant remake all the blogs folks. I'll just do the ones that have been updated in December. I'll make a link to all your blogs..actually they should just be your old address still. Take what you want from there and change the time stamp on a new post. right anyhow onwards we go. I get all the shit jobs
