Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
Not looking good for Gallovits now. Started off brightly enough, but Shaughnessy well on top now and a set and 2 breaks up. Still, the run was fun while it lasted.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
great pick by myself!
my only advice to people,is to trust their feeling and their knowledge, what i read in various forums ir really ridiculus, thnx god here is one of the best places to read and post
i have to defend my pick wich proved correct anyway
marcos was leading 3-0 in first set, and he was very near to make it 4-0. i noticed 4 scandal referees and linesmen decisions, it was clear that germans were pushing kolhi to reach the final, beleive me the official was one of the stupidiest in ATP, BAGH got upset, he lost concetration, but finally he did it against impressive kolhi,in second set bagh was unstoppable, and won clearly and very easily
as for the final, definetely i am on bagh again, to my eyes the match gonna be easier for bagh than today's one, kolhi is in life's form, and in addition he had the pushing,
bagh to win the Halle @2.05
large stakes, have a nice evening, try to be happy

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
Well, I was due a bad day really. Gallovits started off well, but once Shaughnessy got into her stride, there was only really ever one winner. Nice call on the 2-0 by the way, Asto. And Jankovic has just beaten Bondarenko in straight sets.
One more for this afternoon, for the Hantuchova v Bartoli match. As mentioned earlier, it seems Hantuchova may have already achieved her objective for this tournament. May also suffer from this being her second match of the day, whereas Bartoli played her 3rd round game yesterday. Don't think Hantuchova should be such a clear favourite here.
Lay Hantuchova v Bartoli @ 1.35, liability 1.5pts

Have cancelled that last bet - the game's not showing on the scoreboard, it seems they *might* be playing on a court that's not got a live feed, but as I don't know what the hell's going on, I'd rather bail out now. Managed to back Hantuchova at the same price I'd previously laid, so will leave it there.

Yes thanks RC . I did in fact have Baggy, A rod and Mahut also to win 2 straight but Im not counting the dosh cos I only really got back what I lost on Nadal v Mahut. I thought after a toughy earlier in the day Mahut would lose two no bother. That was a shock to me and Rafa!
My thoughts for the final--- If Roddick is not more consistent Mahut could do it. I dont think an unretunable first serve will be enough

Both straight set winners. I won't be getting involved in the final.

Finished as I started this week. Badly . Roddick not so much good as Tursonov patchy,. Serving to take it to 6-5 he was 40 love up and lost the game which sums up his day. Good win for Bagy but I’d fancy Berdych tomorrow. Roddick should beat Mahut but at 1.21 on A-Rod no chance of getting involved. The women's event is a mess . Minimum 2 games on a day to win. There might be some val,ue on the final if someone has a very rough semi.

Berdych, Baghdatis To Clash in Gerry Weber Open Final
Two of the ATP's youngest and most successful stars will battle for the 2007 Gerry Weber Open title Sunday as Tomas Berdych and Marcos Baghdatis both posted straight-sets semifinal victories at the grass court event on Saturday.
No. 4 seed Berdych was the first to move into the final, dispatching Jarkko Nieminen, 7-6(5), 6-4. The first set between the two was a solid serving display, as neither one let go of any service games; there was only a single break point opportunity in the entire set, but that was saved by Nieminen. After the tie-break, Berdych was too good and ended up running his record against the Finn to 2-0 in one hour, 24 minutes.
Berdych now moves into his second final in two appearances in Halle, having finished runner-up to World No. 1 Roger Federer at this event a year ago. Federer withdrew this year due to fatigue
"Last year it was kind of a surprise; I never thought before that grass would be one of my good surfaces, and I'd reach the final," Berdych said. "This year I know I can play well on grass. When I see my opponents I think that I'm the favorite and that I should win. I hope I can make the last step and make it further than last year."
Berdych is now 1-2 in semifinals this year, having previously lost at the final four stage at the ATP Masters Series event in Monte-Carlo and at Munich. Nieminen is now 0-2 this year in semifinals, having previously fallen in the Marseille semis.
Hoping to stop Berdych from claiming his first trophy of the year will be No. 8 seed Baghdatis, who downed Philipp Kohlschreiber by a similar score, 7-6(1), 6-4. The two traded breaks in the first set en route to the tie-break, where, like Berdych did in the early match, Baghdatis took charge. The winning momentum spilled into the second and with one break the Cypriot moved into his first grass court final.
Sunday will not only be Baghdatis' first chance at a grass court title, it will also be his 22nd birthday.
"It's the final. It's my birthday. So I have good chances I think," Baghdatis said. "I'm playing pretty good, pretty solid. I think I will have to stay focused and find a solution to return and make him play, serve well. The key is to stay concentrated."
Berdych and Baghdatis have played once previously, at the ATP Masters Series stop in Indian Wells, with Baghdatis winning that routinely, 6-4, 6-1. While Berdych will play his first final of the year, Baghdatis has already played in two, winning Zagreb and finishing runner-up at Marseille.

Hantuchova and Bartoli still have to finish their QF too, they were 1 set all at the close. Don't know what they're going to try to do, whether they'll try to get everything played tomorrow weather permitting, or whether they'll extend it to Monday.
Nothing that grabs my attention so far tomorrow, will have a look at the handicap and total games markets tomorrow morning, see if there's anything of interest there.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
One for today, in the Birmingham SF.
Sharapova (-5) v Bartoli @ 1.833 - 3pts
Watched some of the Bartoli v Hantuchova 3rd set this morning, and Bartoli wasn't particularly impressive, especially on her serve. With one pretty tough set (7-5) already played this morning, tiredness should start to come into this one too. Sharapova cruised past Likhovtseva yesterday, and I'd expect her to come through this one pretty comfortably too. Due to start any time now, I think, as it seems they're planning on playing the final this afternoon too

One of the worst sets of tennis I've ever seen. 11 breaks in it I think. Bartoli lost two of her service games to love
Sharapova will want this over as fast as possible. Bartoli has nothing to trouble her with
5 Units Sharapova 2-0 @ 1.33 (max stakes )

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
I think this Birmingham tournament must be jinxed. After all the problems they've had with the weather, at last they get some decent weather, and the Sharapova v Bartoli SF has been delayed now for about the last 20 minutes due to 2 people in the crowd collapsing Two separate incidents as well, a woman collapsed first (she's now been taken away from the stands by the medics), then about 10 minutes later a man collapsed, he's still being seen to by the doctors now.

Bet that first set had you sweating a bit, Wittmann Bartoli served for the set at 5-4, but was broken (and served 2 DFs in the game), then when serving to stay in the set at 5-6, she served 2 more DFs, one of them on set point. She'd actually been serving pretty well up until those 2 games as well.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)
First set didn't quite go according to plan there, Bartoli actually started off pretty well. The nerves soon got to her though, and a spate of double faults meant she ended up falling to pieces on her own serve to round off a pretty decent week for me.
