Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Thanks Prinze. And Asto. I think

First time I've actually watched Gallovits play, as her game was on TV over here today. Very impressive in the first set, seemed to get nervous in the 2nd though, started losing her temper though when she started struggling on her serve, and if Razzano had served better to take advantage of the few times she broke, it could've been a lot closer. Also rather bizarrely, she has an absolutely huge drinks container. Doesn't sit there drinking out of litre or half-litre bottles like most players, she sits there with a huge container (must be at least 5 litres) and just drinks straight from that

Could've done without the rain coming along there in the Gonzalez v Tursunov game. If Gonzalez takes the tie break, the over 23.5 games bet is in for sure (barring a retirement at the start of the 3rd set). Wasted 3 set points, one more left, and it's on his serve.

Saw that price drifting on Pennetta, Wittmann, any idea what's causing it? Decided if I could get matched at 2 on Pennetta, I'd take it. Came back to the PC after the Gallovits game to find I've been matched for the grand total of 0.35pts before the price started coming back in, so:

Pennetta to beat Shaughnessy @ 2 - 0.35pts

Oh, and the Nadal v Mirnyi games bet from yesterday did end up losing.

Great stuff on Gallovits again folks!!

Not catching a single break this week.

Vakulenko retires – but in first set – no winner on santangelo.

Gonzo serving for second set – match suspended due to rain.

Kerber manages 2 games and not looking much better for King.

Mahut single handeldy keeping me afloat somewhat this week with another big priced win against Ljubcic.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Should Roddick really be 1.13 against Cilic given how poor he was against the even more limited Bogdanovich yesterday? Small lay of Roddick with the view to baking at a later stage.

Lay Roddick @ 1.12 (0.5 Units Risked)

Going for a risky i/r play on Tursonov. Watching this streaming and there is not much between them. I’m not too confident that Gonzo can take this home for me. Tursonov pre the first rain break was createing slightly more and was unlucky that it went to a tie-break. I’ve decided to lay Gonzo with my entire profit on him. Gonzo wins I get nothing , Tusrsonov gets back in it I make nearly 3.80 units. Grass is the hardest of all surfaces to nick a break but with the weather throwing everything into a bit of chaos I can give up my 0.91 Units and the Russian has created enough points to suggest there might be a twist here yet.

Lay Gonzalez @ 1.15 (0.91 Units Risked)

If the weather breaks in London and Birmingham many of the players who won today will be playing a second game in their QFs.

In London – Mahut after a tough 3 setter plays Nadal. If motivated you’d figure Nadal will win this in straight sets. Mahut very like Miryni in style with a bit less power so you’d have to think Nadal would like the match up. If Nadal wants a first grass win this will be as good a chance as any with Hewitt , Djokovic, Gasquet gone and Roddick looking very patchy.

Karlovic should have too much for Clement who played another tough 3 setter against Djokovic. They are however 1-1 in the H to H and Clement beat him on grass. Both games went to 3 sets and needless to say featured 3 tiebreaks of which big Ivo won 2. if I could get more than the 1.37 on Betfair I’d take it but I’d want close to 1.50.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Absolutely great result for me - biggest payout of the year. Debated long and hard about Gonzo last night before plumping for him. He looked nervous all the way through and for the sake of a medium sized payout I thought Dimitri worth a shout

For Tursonov coming from a break down at 2-4 to win 4 games in a row and send Gonzo home is a major boost pre Wimbeldon. I might actually ferret out his best price and stick a few quid on himLaid Gonzo i/r at 1.15 (he was laid as low as 1.12 before the re-break of Tursonov). Have added Dimitri to my Christmas card list .

If Pennetta can complete a comeback from losing the first set 0-6 I'll be in hog heaven

Every man and his dog here will be on Gallovits tomorrow

One final one for the day.

Mayer-Bagdatis

Mayer’s been drifting all day against Bagdatis. Baggy was impressive enough against Soderling but the Swede was the victim of his own nerves as well with double faults and ues at critical moments. Mayer at home and 2 good performances. Tricky slice and spin should make for a difficult day for the Cypriot who took a number of heavy falls during yesterdays game against Soderling.

0.75 Units Mayer @ 3.05
0.25 Units Baggy 2-1 @ 4.20

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Mens:

Staked: 19.9pts
Returned: 20.81pts
Profit/Loss: +0.91pts

Womens:

Staked: 15.15pts
Returned: 26.11pts
Profit/Loss: +10.96pts

Overall P/L: +11.87pts

Will be interested to see the price on Gallovits tomorrow. I'd have Shaughnessy as a marginal favourite based on today's games, I think, but anything above 2.3 will have me tempted on Gallovits.

Just put down some optimistic price requests on the winner market for that tournament, and upon requesting 4.0 on Gallovits, I had the nice surprise of finding there was actually a tiny amount still available at 5.1. The amount? 0.17pts Still, it all counts, and I'll see where I get on those price requests and whether anyone gullible will bite before the market starts to even itself out

Gallovits to win Barcelona @ 5.1 0.17pts

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Great call on Tursonov.

I am out of funds in my exchanges so i had to make do with a measly 9/2 on Tursonov which wasnt really much value but i fancied a bet.

Roddick is really not playing well this tournament is he? He is going to be a definately lay for me at Wimbledon as he is being dominated in base line rallys and bar his serve and that he doesnt have much else going for him.

Saying all that - i stuck a double of Roddick/Nadal for interest

Keep up the good work guys.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

Can’t get a winner for love nor money with the ladies this week. Looks like this will be my first week for over a month showing a loss unless I manage something wild in the next few days. Hopefully better fortunes next week in Holland and Nottingham.

Magut (to beat Ljubcic) @ 3.3 +2.19 Units
1.5 Units Blake @ 1.60 -1.5 Units
Gonzo in the end 2 Units @ 1.49 -2 Units
Lay Roddick @ 1.12 (0.5 Units Risked) -0.5 Units
Lay Gonzalez @ 1.15 (i/r) (0.93 Units Risked) +5.89 Units
0.75 Units Mayer @ 3.05 -0.75 Units
0.25 Units Baggy 2-1 @ 4.20 -0.25 Units

Today Staked 6.93 Units
Today Profit +3.08 Units

Event Staked 44.93 Units
Event Profit +0.22 Units

Pennetta @ 1.92 (1.5 Units) -1.5 Units (blew a break in the final set)
1 Unit Kerber @ 3.22 -1 Unit
1 Unit King @ 3.27 -1 Unit

Today Staked 3.25Units
Today Loss -3.25 Units

Event Staked 15.50 Units
Event Loss -8.18 Units (that’s shameful)

And someone has bitten. Which always makes me paranoid that maybe my estimation of what constitutes a fair price is wrong Anyway:

Lay Shaughnessy v Gallovits @ 1.3, liability 2pts (that's in addition to the earlier 0.17pts bet).

As I said earlier, not sure whether Gallovits will win this, I'd make Shaughnessy a slight favourite, but there's no way in the world I'd make her a 1.3 favourite, so I'm more than happy to side with Gallovits at that price. Should point out this is on the tournament winner market, not the match betting market, so even if one of the players withdraws before the match or in the first set, the bet will still be settled one way or the other.

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

LOL

I have given up with tennis betting. My luck has well and truly deserted me in the last few weeks.

Cant believe Nadals just been beat 7-0 in a tie break. He has been 5/5 so far on Tie breaks while Mahut had been 2-8 so far and he goes down 7-0.

You have to laugh really

Good luck with your bets for the remainder of the tournament guys

Re: Tennis 11-18/6/2007 (ATP Halle & Queens, WTA Birmingham & Barcelona Clay)

ok Nadal is out, unfortunately for me he is been defeated by other player than mirniy, the fact is that Nadall NEVER convinced me

marcos bagh vs philipp Kolhi

pick : Bagh @1.60 max stakes

i think i will receive all my money, both players were impressive today, cataclysmic against their opponents

to my eyes bagh today performed like a huge favourite to win the wimbledon: the best grass performance i ever watched, bagh as greek looks a better edition of sampras

kolhi was cataclysmic as well against poor blake, and THATS my point>Mayer was exceptionally strong opponent for bagh, doing 8 unforced errors ONLY, WHILE bagh did more,

h2h is 2-2, two recent wins of kolhi on CLAY, which is not bagh's favorite surface, according to what i watch, grass is the BEST surface for bagh, by far the best,

marcos bagh to win @1.6 is my pick, max stakes!

cya ,try to be happy, life is too short
