Re: Wimbledon men's event 25 June - 8 July

Berlocq to beat Udomchoke @ 3.25 2pts

Virtually nothing to go on for Berlocq on grass, very few games played, but the fact he beat Ferrero last week is enough to suggest he may be able to play on it. Udomchoke is nothing special, no great grass court pedigree, and I can't see why Berlocq should be such a big outsider for this one.

RC would it be easier to have a daily thread for the games you think? Or better a round thread? I was just thinking it could be awfully cluttered on here unless thats the way you would all prefer it. Just a thought i thought i would share.

A daily thread starts getting confusing though when constant rain delays mean a game meant to be played on Monday overruns/gets put back to Tuesday, etc.

Re: Wimbledon men's event 25 June - 8 July

can anyone tell me why the centre court is not covered yet , last year they told us that it would have a sliding roof a whole year and it not done , what chance have they got of finishing a olympics village in time when they can't even cover a tennis court in a year

It was never meant to be ready this year. I think it's supposed to be there for 2008.

Nowhere near as close as she was about 20 mins before the rain delay though, Prinze, she was actually 5-1 up and has served for the match twice, got broke both times.

Actually, wouldn't it be better to keep a condensed thread? After all, it's unlikely anyone would bother looking back on picks for Day 2 on Day 10, would they?

Re: Wimbledon men's event 25 June - 8 July

Tipsarevic won but very hard. I think that he don't have chance against Serra in second round and odds could be interesting.
But who cares for that when it's raining again in England and you don't know when they will play. I hate rain

Re: Wimbledon men's event 25 June - 8 July

Every bone in my body is screeeeeaming 'DONT DO IT' but I can't resist - time for a match betting dabble again...

2pts Wawrinka @ 2.56 @ Betfair

Ok, Wawrinka is no great shakes on grass, but a) he's atleast been giving it a go this month, and b) has atleast caused his decent opponents a problem or two even with his 2 first round exits(tiebreak v Karlovic and 6-4 final set loss to Korolev.) Further, last year at Wimbledon he showed that he can play a bit here, beatiin Nalbandian and Becker before being edged out by Ancic.

So, potentially, Wawrinka can play a bit here, and II'll oppose Llodra for two further reasons...a) his Wimbledon record is pretty poor, with only a win over David Sanchez to his name since 2000, and b) he pulled out of Queens with a leg problem. That should have cleared up now, but at the very least Wawrinka should give him a good workout and both players may have to be at their physical best to win this one.

Whatever, I think the 2.56 is a touch big so a bet there for me.
