Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Kraijeck throws away a first set lead …she’ll win the final set I’ve no doubt. I’m tradeing the hell out of this one.
Sharapova has saved nine bps in her first two service games in the second set. If Williams loses this she should hang her head in shame.
Women’s tennis… you got to laugh

Sharapova stuffed in 2 sets! Can't believe that result. Could be a cracking day for the Williams brothers.

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Kraijecka and Sernena Williams came close yesterday but two losers in the end. Managed to trade my way to a profit in the Kraijeck match as her collapse was pretty foreseeable.
Today I'm going with another longshot in Kuznetsiova. Williams played very well yesterday but Sharapova's serving was very poor. Kuznestova has beaten 4 fairly weak players en route here so hard to judge how well she is actually playing but a 3-3 h to h gives some hope that the 3.15 on offer is a bit of value. She was poor last week and lapses like that today will surely give the Russian a decent shout.

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Williams-Ivanovic
I opposed Williams today but she again raised her game against Kuznetsova and dropped serve only once. Another impressive performance. Ivanovic saved 3 match points in her game against Vaidisova who looked like she bottled it badly from the highlights I saw. Ivanovic’s big serve will keep her in this but I don’t think she has the weapons to trouble Williams in this form. Venus has a pretty astonishing W10 L1 record in Slam semis and has won all 5 on grass so for the real big hitters the 1.28 looks like money in the bank but I’m reluctant to get involved at that price. I’ll have a nibble of Venus in straight sets something she has managed in 6 of her 10 SF wins. H to H is 2-0 Williams (both fast hardcourt str sets wins)
1.25 Units Williams 2-0 @ 1.80
Henin-Bartoli
This looks as big a mismatch as you can get at this level. I’m still amazed Bartoli made it this far to be honest as I don't rate her at all. Henin barely broke sweat when beating her 6-3,6-1 at Eastbourne last month and if she puts 1/4 a mind to it will do the same again. I cannot imagine anything other than the most routine of wins here. Bartoli is W4 L20 against the current top 10 with 2 wins each strangely enough against both Jankovic and Petrova. Betting below 1.40 is something I very rarely do but backing Henin to win in straight sets tomorrow is like an 18% government bond with a 1 hour maturity period.
5 Units Henin 2-0 @ 1.19

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Much as I'd love to think Bartoli stands a chance, I really can't argue with you on that match, Wittmann. Have laid off another bit of my outright on her, if Bartoli does somehow manage to win it'll be a nice bonus, but I'm certainly not counting on it.
Will disagree with you on the other semi though, I think Ivanovic stands a decent chance and is well worth a shot at 4.4.

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Everyone expects Henin to sweap the court with Bartoli, but I see a possibility the French to give her a performance at last. So, like several weeks before, I'm taking Bartoli +7 games, bet365, @2.10. Really, speculative one, but odds over 2.00 are not to be missed IMO.
And I do like the price for Ivanovic
For me this is the value of the tournament and I'll be on her definitely.
If she plays her game and doesn't look like the Russians Sharapova and Kuznecova, Venus will suffer today
Ivanovic 2.5/10

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
I can hardly imagine that Henin won´t win this year´s Wimbledon. Maybe if she breaks both her legs. This is the right time to go for the title finally. Only problem could be Williams (if they´ll meet in final), Henin beat her only once, but their last match was long long time ago.

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
WTF happened there then? Missed the first two sets, only saw the third, but what the hell was wrong with Henin? Fair play to Bartoli, played very well, but there were so many errors from Henin.
And I bet those that laid Bartoli at 1000 on Betfair are shitting it now 469€ matched at that price.

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Henin won the first set 6:1, everything was alright and I wasn´t interested in that match. Actualy I forgot that they were playing, because of men´s matches. And then I read your post . Unbelievable, but that´s the tennis

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Match was so great. Bartoli was better in second set and also little better in third so she deserve to win that match. Big suprice of course but that's the point of semis on Wimbledon.
Great match is expecting in finals. Wenus is favorit but after today's match I can't bet on that

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
V. Williams – M. Bartoli
Marion Bartoli made huge surprise after reaching the final, beating number 1 player Henin today. She had great matches in previous two rounds too, beating Krajicek and Jankovic. But, reaching the final for the first time on bigger events can put psychological pressure. Bartoli, until now, have never passed third round on Wimbledon.
Venus Williams raised her form and in style of play she reminds a lot on the times when she was the best. Not only trashing last three opponents without giving a set, but she is dominating the whole match. Beating names like Sharapova, Kuznetsova and Ivanovic all with 2:0 will give Williams great boost of confidence and playing on the final of her favorite tournament, I cannot see another outcome than convincing 2:0 over Bartoli for her fourth Wimbledon title.
Pick: V. Williams to win 2:0; Odds: 1.72; Bookmaker: Bet365; Stake: 6 units

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Out in the pub until now and just caught the Henin result . Terrible for me but redeemed somehwat by Gasquet nicking it against Roddick and Djokovic swinging the 5th set.
I would rate this one of the shocks of the year . well done Bartoli. I'll still be opposing her tomorrow though. Williams has lost 4 games at Wimbeldon anhd two to her sister. I'll be on Williams 2-0 tomorrow. Max stakes again

Re: Wimbledon women's event 25 June - 8 July
Agree 100% with ZoZo here. The Henin defeat yesterday was a monster shock but having watched the game last night Henin was simply brutal inthe last two sets. Williams was ruthless in despatching Ivanovic especially when the Serb rallied second set. Williams has 10 slam final appearances. In Bartoli's last final appearance she lost 6-1, 6-3 to Akiko Morigami. All the shock Wimbeldon finalists I can remember in the womens events get humiliated and I can only see pain here for Bartoli. Fairtyale over here. Max stakes again .
5 Units Williams 2-0 @ 1.66 (Stan James)
I've also permed Venus with some correct scores from the Nadal game
Williams 2-0 , Nadal 3-0 3 Units @ 4.85 (Boylesports)
Williams 2-0, Nadal 3-1 2 Units @ 4.5 (Hills)
