Re: Tennis 19th - 26th August (ATP & WTA New Haven)

Kuznestsova - Dementieva

Just finished watching Bartloi-Dementieva QF which convinces me that Dementieva is opposable today against big hitting fellow countrywoman Kuznetova. Having seemed to conquer her service jitters recently she has lapsed back into bad habits and Kuznetsova will murder her second serve if she has a performance like last night’s first set which Bartoli should really have won. With the winner of this facing a very tired opponent from the other SF I expect both to go for this. Kuznestsova has a fantastic SF record on hardcourt winning 12 and losing only 5 all of which were to her personal nemesis Henin. Dementieva has been playing with heavy leg strapping and a wrist bandage of late.

2.50 Units Kuznestova @ 1.58

Svazay (4/9)
Kuzatesova (1/2)
Karlovic 4-1 (4/9) h to h , 7-0 in tbs and serving like a machine

Re: Tennis 19th - 26th August (ATP & WTA New Haven)

The Davydenko ticket lies in tatters on the floor !
beaten for the second time this year by a man who he´ll soon regard as an Achilles heel but Karlovic serves relentlessly on, Wittmann, and it´s hard to see his concentration being deflected by next week´s events.

I think the Kuznetsova-Dementieva match up is 50/50 and the value firmly on Dems side who, in my view, is possibly only second behind Henin once she gets the ball in play. Kuznetsova can be terribly careless and for me her trademark slow starts are the key.

Elsewhere, there are 2 live Us Open qualies at the fair.
Pakistani Quereshi has a massive serve but comes up against home boy Scoville Jenkins who is overpriced in my opinion while Steve Darcis still coming down off a high in Holland, no doubt, is far too short against unknown Silva where the books are having a stab in the dark at the prices.

Re: Tennis 19th - 26th August (ATP & WTA New Haven)

Too much work in the ofiice and no time at all, I even try to post something about bulgarian football, but I'll put my bets for today, and I'm with Wittmann in most of them.

Double Szavay + Karlovic - 4/10, missing Kuznetsova as odds look too short to me.

Jenkins to beat Qureshi, that game should be even and the Yank has better chanses IMO. 2/10 here.

See you at US open next week.

The heat played a major part in yesterdays proceedings with both Dementieva (retirement with heat stroke) and KArlovic feeling the effects in a big way. Had a great in running play on Fish. KArlovic who cramped over after getting his 6ft 6 frame down to a low net shot broke immediately after (with Fish drifting to nearly 6s) before Fish leveled with I vo serving for the match. I got on then and kept getting on until just after KArlovic held serve in the second set at 1.74. Having lost the first set he should have been tradeing at around 1.5 – 1.55 but with possible injury concerns the 1.74 was massive. Demetieva and Kuznetsova in 100+ heat had what was a quality encounter (for two sets anyway) but when she lost the second set Dementieva’s serve went to pieces and she retired having served 3 consecutive dfs. I stayed up late to watch a nervy 2hrs 20 min encounter between Danildou and Svazay. Both players showed equal amounts of guts and nerves with Svazay twice coming from a break down in the final set. The extra 8 hours rest that Kuznestiva got might be crucial here.

Prices look right today for Blake – Fish. Fish was lucky to get a struggling Karlovic and he made a host of ues that would have him slaughtered against someone better like Blake. This looks Blakes.

I’m going to have a bet on Kuzentsova to beat Svazay. After an error strewn first set she played some quality tennis yesterday when her back was against the wall a set and break down. Svazay might have shot her bolt last night and will have to be suffering after coming all the way through qualifiers and through last nights rollercoaster. I can see her having the ability to get a set here but I think if this drags into a third set that Kuznetsova’s experience and less match tested legs will prove the difference.

2 Units Kuznetsova @ 1.33

Re: Tennis 19th - 26th August (ATP & WTA New Haven)

Easy for both Blake and Kuznetsova in the end. Hopefulyy Svazay's exertions and retirement won't hurt her performance at Flushing Meadows

Another solid single figure yield week. Now profitable in 7 of last 8 weeks.

ATP Profit +4.59 Units

WTA Staked 18.00 Units
WTA Loss -2.05Units
