Wittmann's got a new baby to be looking after.
You could always post some opinions of your own while you're waiting for others

Yes, Spanish Eurosport start showing it from Wednesday onwards, I think.
Good luck with your double.

Re: Tennis week 14-20/April
Thanks for opening the thread, Martens.
Loads of tennis this week.
I'll come with some picks later, but don't rely on them to make money
In the morning thought the price for GG Lopez was too good, but Darcis is a decent claycourter, in fact it seems the clay is his favourite surface, although he won two ATP titles on hard.
So, won't be backing Lopez in that one.
Minar and Simon should win their games, don't know how will Minar perform on clay after his good games in USA.

Re: Tennis week 14-20/April
Here's what I fancy for today:
Pashanski to beat Gisquel @2.02 - 2.5 pts
Mayer to beat Gabashvili @1.85 - 2pts
Lay Srebotnik @1.27 against Baszinszky - liability 1.5 pts
Two doubles:
Arvidsson + Simon - 5pts
Cirstea + Errani - 8pts

Re: Tennis week 14-20/April
Two for me in the remaining games today:
Lay Kleybanova @ 1.37 v Cetkovska to win 4pts
Can't really see why Kleybanova is such a big favourite here, personally I'd make her slight favourite but not that short a price. Both players pretty decent on clay this year (Kleybanova 26-7, Cetkovska 22-9). Last year Cetkovska made the final of 3 clay tournaments at ITF level, winning one of them. Kleybanova also made 3 ITF clay tournament finals, winning 2 of them. Cetkovska may just have a slight edge in the fact she's played 3 clay tournaments this year, whereas this will be Kleybanova's first outing on clay since September. All in all, worth a go at this price I'd say.
Granollers-Pujol to beat Gulbis @ 2.04 2pts
Gulbis' clay court record over the past year is a fairly unimpressive 5-9, and his only clay match since last July was a Davis Cup match against world no. 724 Lazar Magdincev, which he lost in 5 sets. Clay court specialist Granollers-Pujol has hardly been off the clay in that time, and has made 5 finals since then, all at Challenger level, but with some decent wins against the likes of Roitman, Montanes and Capdeville.
These two met in March 2007, with Gulbis winning in straight sets, but Granollers has advanced much further than Gulbis since then - back then Gulbis was ranked 85, Granollers 163. Gulbis is still now ranked 85, but Granollers is up to 84. I'm happy to back Granollers as a slight underdog in this one.

Re: Tennis week 14-20/April
Actually, one more, I hadn't realised there were some 2nd round games being played tonight in Charleston.
Cirstea to beat Chakvetadze @ 4.4 2pts
Chakvetadze has looked out of sorts for much of this year, far from the form that's taken her into the top 10 in the rankings. In terms of win-loss ratio at least, clay could be considered her weakest surface, whereas it's most certainly Cirstea's prefered surface, with a 27-9 record for the past year, some of those coming at ITF level but she had a couple of decent runs at higher level tournaments, including a run from qualifying all the way through to the final in the Tier III event at Budapest.
Chakvetadze is obviously the favourite here, but I think she's slightly vulnerable in this match.

Yes, that thought did cross my mind too - not sure why Granollers has decided to go over to the USA rather than play in Valencia (which I would've thought would be more of an attraction being his home country), or even Estoril as you mention. Like you, though, I still think it's a decent bet.

Re: Tennis week 14-20/April
Well done, RC - great job, indeed
To be honest I had dabbles on Cetkovska and G-Pujol also.
Intended to lay Chakvetadze when traveling home from work, but my mobile phone's battery got empty and couldn't log to Betfair mobile and than completely forgot, just to see the Russian being destroyed in the 3rd set.
My doubles went tits up this time, especially after Safin beating Ferrero in a marathon that he dominated most of the time. Obviously Safin is reviving which is good for the men's tennis.
Welcome to TDP, frank

Re: Tennis week 14-20/April
Thanks Engineer
For today's games in Europe:
Valencia:
Schukin to beat Haase @ 3.6 2pts
I'm yet to be convinced by Haase on clay. Had a run to the semis in Amersfoot last July, but that was in his home country and he didn't really face particularly strong clay court opponents (Mantilla, Devilder and Serra, then losing to Eschauer). Clay is Schukin's strongest surface, and although he's been playing mostly in challengers, he has won a couple of clay tournaments in the past year, beating the likes of Mayer, Hernandez, Zabaleta, Bolelli and Granollers-Pujol. Think this one will be closer than the odds suggest.
Also interested in Minar to take a set off Davydenko, but not yet been matched on that, will wait to see if I can get a reasonable price.
