Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
There's a big preview in the Racing post today regarding Wimbledon, with four so called expert punters giving their views. I havent read it, i just thought you all might like to know. The answer to Beanies question may be in there

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
Not the best of starts, loss of around 1.2pts yesterday, with the Monfils bet void as he withdrew before the start. As always with the accumulator, it's a case of one letting me down (Amanmuradova), although there's one game still to be completed.
Anyway, on to today.
Lay Nieminen 3-0 v Odesnik @ 2.88, liability 2.5pts. Nieminen has been in poor form this year, lost 1st round to Zverev in his only grass court warm-up tournament, and since making the QF of the Aus Open, has won just 5 matches. Odesnik generally prefers the faster surfaces, but this year he managed a decent run at Roland Garros too. The one thing putting me off backing him outright is the fact he's never played on grass before, but I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't manage a set in this one.
Lay Cilic 3-0 v Roger Vasselin @ 2.42, liability 2pts
Lay Cilic @ 1.31, liability 1.25pts
Roger Vasselin had a decent run here last year, coming through qualifying to make the 3rd round, beating Chela along the way. Came through qualifying pretty comfortably this year, and has some good grass court form behind him after making the semis at Surbiton, beating Clement before losing to Dancevic (who battered Nalbandian yesterday). Cilic also has decent grass court pedigree, having beaten the likes of Henman, Tsonga and Mathieu, he took Murray to 5 sets, and he made the semis at Nottingham this month, but I think this one will be closer than the odds suggest.
Garcia Lopez v Van Der Merwe @ 1.8, 2.5pts
Van Der Merwe came through qualifiers here, but he's a challenger level player, and hasn't really achieved very much at that level - just one SF and one QF appearance in his career (going back as far as August 2005). Garcia Lopez not in the best of form, but he has got much more experience at this level (36 grand slam matches, compared to 3 (in these qualifiers) for Van Der Merwe), and on grass has beaten Ferrer and Grosjean, and took a young Djokovic to 5 sets.
Pashanski v Eaton @ 2.6, 1.25pts
Eaton has come through qualifying pretty impressively, beating Patience and Kukushkin, but I can't see how he can justifiably be a 1.62 shot (current price on Betfair). Earlier this month he lost to no. 802 Neil Bamford, which if nothing else suggests he can be extremely inconsistent. Pashanski has a poor 0-4 record on grass, but he took a set off Agassi in one of those matches, and with 547 places between these two in the rankings I can't justify Eaton as such a clear favourite.
Lay Tipsarevic 3-0 @ 2.12, liability 5pts
Lay Tipsarevic @ 1.2, liability 1pt
Tipsarevic is a hugely frustrating player, capable of great tennis (i.e. taking a set off Djokovic at Queens) and complete shite (losing in straight sets to no. 308 Groth in qualifiers at Nottingham). H2H between these two is 2-2, with Ascione taking the most recent meeting in Lyon on hard court last October. Anyone backing Tipsarevic at this kind of price, IMO, needs their head examining.

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
On to the women's event:
Lay Cirstea v Bychkova @ 1.39, liability 1pt
Wouldn't go as far as to say this one's a coin toss, Cirstea has the marginally better grass court record, but I really don't see her as this clear a favourite.
Cetkovska v Tanasugarn @ 2.76 2pts
Tanasugarn's price is based in large part on her win at s'Hertogenbosch (having come through the qualifiers) last week. Cetkovska is no mug on grass though, with a QF appearance at Eastbourne, beating last year's Wimbledon runner-up Bartoli along the way. Have to wonder whether playing 7 matches in Holland might leave the veteran Tanasugarn suffering a bit coming into Wimbledon, and this looks a decent price on Cetkovska.
Lay Dulko v Rezai @ 1.5, liability 1.25pts
Looks a pretty even match up to me, and I really can't see why Dulko is such a clear favourite.
Lay Peer v O'Brien @ 1.5, liability 2pts
Peer in dreadful form this year, 5 straight defeats and just 2 wins from her last 10 matches, up against a girl playing at home and on her favourite surface. Looks ripe for an upset to me.

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
hello boys
in my opinion wimbledon central court ( where nadal is expected to play his matches) surface is slower than queens, i said this as from last year in this forum, especially during quarterfinals till final...anyway, not very important or deciding factor,
today two gifts to all nice people here
1. Murray to beat Santoro @1.10
2. Chardy to beat Gils @1.40
maximum stakes- by the way for me, maximum stakes means maximum money somebody can afford to lose at a specific day and time-
so for somebody is 10 euros, for somebody else might be 10k euros or more
i watched magician santoro recently in halle, he looks miserable, and i think he is still in courts, just to collect as much money he can...miserable truly
Gil i watched him also at estoril, nothing special, Chardy should cruise here 3-0., but i prefer to stay at the reasonable 1.40
good luck boys

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
Errani v Hantuchova lay Hantuchova @1.40 stake 5/10
Hantuchova returns after an injury (foot.) Errani is solid player. it can be a balanced match.

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
Today's turning into a bit of a disaster for me. Of the 5 matches I was on that have been completed, 4 have gone against me, and the other was voided (due to Odesnik retiring against Nieminen)
Looks like Engineer's having a better day though .GIF)

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
Davydenko lost 3-0 straight sets
does this say anything to you?
not about today's match, but concerrning wimbledon 2007?
hehehe, there are rumours again about this player, that he fixed his defeat to baghdatis last year correct score 3-0 LOLLLLLLLLL
I WATCHED THAT GAME , i didnt realise any fixing actions from davydenko, it was windy, and perhaps wind forced both players to make errors, i dont beleive anything about this match, coz i watched it

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
Complete disaster yesterday, Garcia Lopez the only winner, and Odesnik at least retiring to leave that bet void. Rezai won the first set 6-1 and still lost, and O'Brien led by a break in the first set, then led 5-0 in the 2nd set, and still managed to lose in straight sets .
Anyway, after a day like that, I think I'd best leave this for a few days

nadal outright winner @3.5 deserves the risk of some money
and also, personally i give zero chances to djokovic here, wawrinka might beat him and throw him out ,if not somebody earlier
take care of Chardy also, perhaps a new and better tsonga...
take care of andrew murray also guys, probable opponent to nadal, with massive chances to do something great here
lets see, i will chose some first round matches tomorrow

well Djokovic is out what a relief! i couldent afford my self to watch him in wimbledon again guys i deserve the title of the prophet of this tournament...
as for djokovic, and all similarities, i just want to remind that wimbledon is something else of what people think, lets say i am old fashioned
Nadal to win the tournament ALL THE WAY
cheers

Re: WIMBLEDON 23.06-06.07.2008
Nadal is the best tennis player even borned
no matter the surface, this is totally nonsense, i speak about tennis skills, the original can a player to deliver,
Nadal, is a phenomenon, i strongly beleive, that time has arrived for him, to win the wimbledon, has nothing to worry from federer, or any other
Nadal to win the title, normal stakes @3.6
marvellus,marvellus bet
