Any thoughts on Fish-Ginepri, CJ? Leaning towards Fish, but he hasn't been the player he once was for eons - then again, Ginepri leads Fish 4-0(including 2 meetings at Challenger levels) on h2h(admittedly, all those meetings took place in the US and none had come on grass)...

Re: Wimbledon 2006

A few more for this afternoon.

Karasunic-Ferrero

Can’t see how an ever more erratic Ferrero justifies a price of 1.35 here. Karasunic another big server should pick up enough cheap points to make a game of this.

Lay Ferrero (0.5 Units Risked) @ 1.36

Robredo-Djokovic

Robredo was patchy enough yesterday by all accounts but he has a huge edge in experience over Djokovic. He also beat him very recently on a fast indoor surface so should have a bit of a psychological edge here. This is a coin toss IMO which makes the 2.16 on the Spaniard a bit of value.

Robredo 1 Unit @ 2.16

Minar-Garcia Lopez

Minar in better form against the clay courter should have the edge.

Minar 1.5 Units @ 1.78

Re: Wimbledon 2006

noone fancies haas to beat bloomfield @ 1.1?

yes the price is tiny but 3-0 or even 3-1 is tempting. a lot of "bankers" like federer are @ 1.02 and 1.03. 1.1 for a guy with a lot of talentand clas against a guy whoes just won his first ever wimbledon game.

seems a no brainer to me, or are these bankers best to be avoided?

Re: Wimbledon 2006

Can't believe the price for such a tremendous double(value-wise at least)...

20pts Wawrinka-Vliegen (2.64 @ Ladbrokes)
Calleri sneaked through on the back of beating a woefully inconsistent Srichaphan who has a knack of self-destructing from time to time. Just how Wawrinka, who'd sent Karlovic packing in the first round, could be rated as a 50/50 shot to win this one is beyond me - if anything, Wawrinka could have an unknown grasscourt pedigree about him which the books are underestimating big time...

Likewise, Mahut is no world beater on this surface and I feel he's still way underpriced on the back of his beating Melzer - Vliegen's just a class apart.

Cheers & Good Luck!

Starting Bank : 100.00pts
Current Bank : 70.00pts
Profit/Loss : -30.00pts

Probably unknown with his grass record being 1-4 (not that Calleri's much better admittedly). Calleri had an injury break yesterday in the deciding set. Price looks right to me

Haas should beat Bloomfield easily. Better bet is a handicap bet (try Admiral / Pinnacle). Bloomfield is ast the centre of a match fix probe at Betfair re his match with Berlocq yesterday by the by

Re: Wimbledon 2006

Yeah strangely enough I notice centrebet seem to be almost the top prices for both those players and hence the double weighs in at 3.18
Standout price of 2.05 for Wawrinka and one of the higher prices at 1.55 for Vligien.
If you though 2.64 was good then 3.18 must be beefcake.

Is anyone watching the Baghdatis-Mackin match? Incredible match it seems - Mackin's leading 2-1 in sets and 2-0 up in the 4th set as I write...

Lots of shocks yesterday but that would be the biggest yet (maybe Bagdatis has a few quid on Mackin like Belocq had on Bloomfield yesterday (allegedly))

Re: Wimbledon 2006

Not the best of days today. Almost very close with a nice touch on Lopez at nearly 3s who went down 11-9 in the final set against Ljubicis. Santoro at even more fancy odds couldn’t close out against Berdych and I wouldn’t fancy him tomorrow. Minar capitulated very tamely against a player whom he’d easily beaten twice before. Robredo and Djokovic looks like being very tight as well with.

Lay Ljubcic @ 1.51 (0.75 Units Risked) : -0.75 Units
Zib @ 1.55 (1.5 Units) +0.78 Units
Lay Federer 3-0 @ 1.37 (0.75 Units Risked) -0.75 Units
Lay Ferrero (0.5 Units Risked) @ 1.36 -0.5 Units
Minar 1.5 Units @ 1.78 – 1.5 Units

Staked / Loss : 16 Units / -1.97

For tomorrow:

Agassi – Seppi

Agassi sputtered a bit against Paskani but once in his groove was comfortable enough. Winner gets a great looking third round tie against Nadal. Seppi played well at the Stella Artois but prior to that his grass form non existent. Agassi won’t want to end it here and he should have enough here.

Agassi 2 Units @ 1.46

Gonzalez-Safin

Safin is 1-2 on the H to H but Safin has been poor this year (12-10) and I’m not sure he’s still recovered from the 2005 injury and a long lay off. Gonoz’s Wimbeldon record is easily as good as his. I’d make this a toss up so I’m willing to take Gonzo at odds against

Lay Safin @ 1.77 1.25 Units Risked

Bjorkman-Dlouhy

Bjorkman seems to have hit a rich vein of grass form (a surface he was no slouch on anyway). A run to the final in Nottingham was followed with an excellent win over countryman Thomas Johansson yesterday. Dlouhy slightly surprisingly beat Serra yesterday but he’s 1-3 on grass and Bjorkman beat him easily (on hard) in their one meeting in 2005. Bet of the day for me.

2.5 Units Bjorkman @ 1.41

Gimelstob-Ljubcic

I opposed Ljubcic at very short odds yesterday (and it very nearly came in) and I’m going to do so again. Gimelstob has beaten some reasonable opposition on grass and has made the third round here on a number of occasions (includeing last year) and Ljubcic had a very fraught 5 setter today which must affect him. Worth chanceing a small bet on Ljubcic at 3-1 as well.

Lay Ljubcic @ 1.23 (0.75 Units Risked)
Ljubcic to win 3-1 0.5 Units (Stan James)

Re: Wimbledon 2006

I like the Gonzalez call CJ - had the same bet in the French and although this isn't quite as good a surface for Gonzalez, some of the main points remain the same.

The plucky Chilean is a bit of a nightmare opponent for Safin - his tenacity on every single point and speed around the court is superb and the Russian is the type to let that affect him, just as it did at the French. I think Safin could charge out of the blocks in this one, but after Gonzalez rolls up the sleeves we'll see him wear his opponent down mentally and physically.

Just small stakes though as feck knows which Safin will turn up on the day.

Re: Wimbledon 2006

Two from the Ladies Section

Hantchova – Jackson

Hantchova (owner of best legs on the WTA tour) never became the “next big thing” that she threatened but she has a solid if unspectacular record at Wimbeldon and on grass generally. I’m surprised to see her the very slight underdog for this matchup against a player in her first Wimbeldon. Jackson’s price is partly a reflection of her run to the grass final in Hastings but the Czech’s experience and record here make her the favourite in my eyes.

Hantchova 1.25 Unit @ 2.02

Granville-Pennetta

Granville plays a lot on grass and in the mid to lower ranked tier of players (50-100) she has a good record (most recently the final in the Challnger at Surbiton). She’s also beaten Pennetta twice in their 3 meetings includeing a 2002 meeting here. Pennetta struggled initially against the unheraled Kloessel first round and Granville is a small bit of value on this surface and with the H to H to make it difficult

Lay Pennetta @ 1.52 (1.25 Units Risked)
