Re: Tennis 2006 - Weeks 3 and 4, January 16-29 *Australian Open*

Watched a bit of the Hingis match today..Not as confident now..She seemed to falter as the match went on and obviously is now experiencing the stamina problem a grand slam would present to someone who has been out so long....Her odds have drifted as well... Maybe this is the time to lay her off?

As for Hingis, just to reiterate like dj I don't see any way she can win this title - she just doesn't have the stamina to cope in the semis or final, as any match v Clijsters will be a gruelling one if she is to win.

In that sense if you can trade the bet off for profit then that can only be a good thing, but nevertheless Hingis' odds would fall if she beats Clijsters.

The Belgian wasn't so convincing v Schiavone, and might not be as much of a favourite as the odds suggest. Its a tough call trick, but I would think that now could well be the time.

Missed the Hingis game as i went to sleep but having been on Schiavone outright i thought she threw a great opportunity away.

Tie break in the first set and she was 4-1 and then 5-3 up but manages to blow that which would've given her a great opportunity to build on it as Clijsters wasn't at her best.

Second set she had her chances again but i think schivone had felt like it wasn't going to be her day after the first chance and gave up.

Im just going to let my Hingis bet ride for now and hope she can get past the next round then lay her off

If you have a good, I mean medium or more, bet on Hingis I would say is better to edge it, since she was really lucky today to have survived to Stosur and tomorrow she will face a supposed much stronger opponent. If the Australian would have won the second set, I am pretty sure I would have layed the Swiss, since Hingis was really struggling a lot, too passive and defensive, unable to find a winner anymore.

I've decided to let my bet on Hingis at 22's ride..Clijsters aint at the peak of her game at the moment, and the gut feeling is still there...
