14. Spartak Varna 26 8 3 15 24 : 46 27
15. Rodopa Smolyan 26 4 4 18 18 : 47 16
16. Koneliano German 26 0 1 25 8 : 105 0

Sorry for the table format.

As you can see, the relegation battle in Bulgaria is in do-or-die phase.
So, the game Rilski Sportist v Marek will be a tight one. I like the odds for home win, but I just don't now whether I can trust the home team. They took 3 points away from home last round, they just can't afford to lose points here, so I'll go for Rilski Sportist, but I'll be modest.

Rilski Sportist - 3/10

Re: Eastern European football 11-14 May

Spartak Varna and CSKA Sofia should be two easy home wins and imo, all other weekend games are not to be touched.

Today's game Botev v Lokomotiv Sofia promises to be interesting. If Botev lose they can be involved deep into the relegation battle, if Lokomotiv don't win, they have no chances for the title. But Botev are too strong at home, so I give the following percentage: 1-X-2 ... 30-45-25
A lay of Lokomotiv is worth a try here:

Botev v Lokomotiv Sovia - 1X... 4/10

Re: Eastern European football 11-14 May

Jihlava - Blšany

Jihlava is always very strong at home and their last two home results 4:0 against teams with same quality like Blsany only displays that they can play against teams like this.
But what is main reason to make this bet for me, is the fact that Blsany are decimated with injuries and many key players will be missing and will be replaced by youngsters. Mainly Pilař the main brain of Blsany is out. I hope Jihlavas captain "Eft" Vladyka will be back, but they can play without him too.

Re: Eastern European football 11-14 May

Another change in relegation rules this season : Arka & Leczna are going down + two bottoms teams. So in theory 2-4 teams can be relegated
Four rounds to go, we'll see if those rules will survive :wasntme

About tonight's game, it's no bet for me, but i kinda like odds on Korona @ 3.55. Still with some slim chance to get intertoto (3th place); still decent potential in the team; Korona won all league games vs Groclin without conceeding (3:0 h, 3:0 a, 2:0 h); Groclin totaly unmotivated. But can't trust them enough here to put money on them
In normal circumstance i would fancy also >2,5 @ 2.05 but Groclin not motivated + Korona current state ("little" crushed morale after losing all when they were so close ...) + no coach, makes me think of boring 0:0

PREMIER LIGA WEEKEND PREVIEW

Premier Liga matchday nine kicks off today with Moscow derby between Spartak and CSKA.

This weekend program begins with Moscow derby of the campaign favorites.

Spartak Moscow clash against the title holders in Luzhniki will be a die-or-do thing for both mortal enemies. CSKA are flying high in the league and the win could put them level with top-ranking Spartak. However the hosts have some selection problems with Vasily Berezutsky, Akinfeev, Caner and Carvalho being absent. Vladimir Fedotov has full bench of players to chose from.

Dinamo Moscow fly to Tomsk as they hope for the second away victory this season when they play Tom. Dinamo are only four points behind the leaders so they will do their best to cut this gap. Lebedkov is out for the hosts while the visiting side are without Pimenov, Siseru, Skepsky and Tochilin.

Krylya Sovetov can jump some steps up the table when they take on Luch-Energiya in Samara. Krylya Sovetov will find it hard to score as Trifonov and Gusin will be absent while the visiting side are without suspended Semochko and injured Sheshukov.

One of campaign leaders FC Moskva will have to fly to Nalchik as they entertain the home side Spartak. Last weekend Moscow team lost the first position to Spartak Moscow and today they will try to redeem the situation. Leonid Slutsky can’t rely on while have almost full squad with Adamov suspended and Bystrov, Meleshin and Okoronkvo injured.

Four games are scheduled for Sunday starting at 2 p.m. as Premier Liga newcomers Khimki host Saturn. Saturn are stuck at the bottom of the table while their rivals stand the sixth place in the standings and with the win could come closer to the leading positions. Drozdov is sidelined for the home team and Rolandas Džiaukštas, Yakubko and Yashin won’t take part in the match for Saturn.

Rubin who are in relegation zone hope to prolong their successful home run as they take on Amkar Perm. Rubin have lost all five away matches but at home they show more successful performance. They will try to make one step up the standings and leave dangerous zone.

Lokomotiv Moscow host another campaign outsider Rostov as they are on a high after they advanced to the Russian Cup final with convincing victory over Spartak Moscow. This win could serve as a boost for further successful run in Premier Liga and help them catch three points in Sunday game.

Finally Kuban host third placed Zenit in Krasnodar as they hope for positive outcome of this match. Vyacheslav Malafeev is suspended for three matches and Lee Ho and Fatih Tekke are injured for Zenit while Ricardu will be the only absentee for Kuban.

Re: Eastern European football 11-14 May

So 12-05-2007
18:00 Górnik Zabrze - Lech Poznań Pol. Orange Ekstraklasa 3.10 3.10 2.30
18:00 GKS Belchatow - Wisła Płock Pol. Orange Ekstraklasa 1.20 5.45 13.00
18:00 ŁKS Łódź - Arka Gdynia Pol. Orange Ekstraklasa 1.85 3.10 4.65
18:00 Zagłębie Lubin - Pogoń Szczecin Pol. Orange Ekstraklasa 1.15 6.25 15.00
20:00 Legia Warszawa - Widzew Łódź Pol. Orange Ekstraklasa 1.25 5.15 10.50

Lech is after celebrating 100th goal of Reiss, and i don't think they had drink only milk , and are no super away power (only 3 wins). So no motivation. Anyway, for Lech the most important game is next round' classic vs Legia (biggest archrivals )at home. Gornik is typical physical team, and in need of points.
As stated before not that easy place to play, so i'll try Gornik Zabrze pk @ 2.25 2 pts.

Another polish classic Legia-Widzew, tickets sold out long time ago, big game here. Both teams are in weak form rather, altough i doubt there's will be lack of action today . Legia still 3 pts above 4th place, Widzew would need a miracle to be relegated. All in all no bet at these odds (win in this game is very important for both teams to please their fans ). Maybe Widzew to score @1.9, Legia is so weak in defence all the season and Widzew is able to play one half on good level (vide (1:1)1:6 vs Lech ), but i don't know the line ups yet.
Both Belchatow and Lubin should win, but knowing that they would probably will want to win without too much effort (still 4 rouns to play)and at those odds no thanks. No ah's too, noone will care about big wins in this stage of league, points are most important, so maybe value in narrow 1 goal win.
Not touching Arka and Leczna games after those confusing decisions.

Opava is great at home, but i don't bet against Caslav, 'cos they are very unpredictable and they can surprise every team, moreover i don't like the odds

Zlin - CB

This will be very important game for home team. They need full point from this game. Home team is in fight about relegation with Pribram and Olomouc. CB will be concentrated more for cup game next week on wednesday with Jablonec.

Zlin at home 4-4-5
CB away 3-3-7

Prediction: home win. CB will without two suspended defenders Zizka and Peroutka and injured are second two defenders Horejš and Homoláč. In additional out is also captain Poborsky and midfielder Cerny. So home win

Re: Eastern European football 11-14 May

Zabrze lost 1:2 , but derby of Poland for Legia (2:0) , narrow win for Belchatow 2:1 and Zaglebie made a shoot out session against Pogon 6:2 and we have first (3rd ? ) relegated team. Let's hope they will make fast comeback to highest level.
And another big game today here, saint war of Krakow, Cracovia will host Wisla Krakow
Cracovia had rather good season (thought they didn't aimed at europe), while Wisla have the worst season since , hmmm about telefonica took over the club, that is like 1998 if i remember right.
Hosts in nice form, Wisla in bad and stuff like this, but imo most important fact is that national team midifielder Blaszczykowski (sold to Dortmund, but will stay with Wisla until the end of this season) is ruled out due to bookings. This guy is 50% of this team and nothing more to add. There's also Baszczynski (first 11 defender, ex nt), Jaen Paulista (first 11, winger), Stolarczyk (defender) and being out since few weeks Sobolewski(national team, defensive midifielder). Another factor - Cracovia in case of win today, can overcome Wisla in the table ! This + win today would be treated by Cracovia related ppl better than taking a place in euro cups or even getting some trophys . So we have to deal with very solid home team vs Wisla's shamefull away record (only ONE away win this season) .2.6 for Wisla isn't tempting, but Cracovia @ 2.6 (can be found in various bookies) surely is Only 3pts on that couse it's still one of two biggest local derbys in Poland. Anyway go Cracovia and GL

Btw, is there noone interested in this league at all ?
