Re: Spain 19/20 May

Mallorca at 3.3 looks a very generous price. 7 home wins in a row for Mallorca and with their away form picking up too, they're 2nd in the 10 game form table, and they've not yet ruled out sneaking into a UEFA Cup place. Valencia's away record is nothing special.

No way at all I'd be backing Sevilla at odds against (Edit - odds on, I meant ).

Will have to check the schedule, but unless the cup final is coming up this week, I'd be interested in Getafe against an Espanyol side that will either be hungover or on a downer, depending on how tonight goes.

Real Sociedad at evens worth considering, and maybe Villarreal against a Racing side that have fallen away in the past few weeks.

Re: Spain 19/20 May

Have checked the date for the Copa del Rey final, not until the 23rd June, so plenty of time yet. Quite fancy Getafe in that case, Espanyol's season is now over, and after playing 120 minutes last night, around 40 of them with 10 men, plus the disappointment of losing in the end, they might not be up for it mentally or physically. And there's now absolutely no way I'll be touching Sevilla at odds on.

Just been reading in As that over 100 players in the top 2 divisions who got booked last weekend will be let off due to a protest by the referees to the Beckham appeal the week before. They weren't happy at the way the decision to book Beckham (which would've lead to him being suspended against Sevilla) was overturned, so the referees union ordered all refs to be deliberately vague in their reports over any bookings, and just put "unsporting conduct". Apparently, the Spanish FA requires more detail in the reports as to what the player actually did to get booked, and as a result all the players that are reported as booked for "unsporting conduct" have to be let off. The result of that is that quite a few players who should be banned this weekend are actually free to play . Baiano, Gustavo López, Moha, Murillo, Vitolo, Zigic, Víctor, Corrales, Garitano, Álvaro and Herrero have all been let off, according to As.

Re: Spain 19/20 May

Yes you're right, Sutible, Getafe have got a UEFA Cup place. I think (although I'm not 100% sure of this) that the fact Getafe knocked out Barcelona means that 7th place in the league now won't qualify for the UEFA Cup. If the final had been Barcelona v Sevilla, assuming both qualify for the Champions League, then the UEFA Cup spot would have gone to 7th place in the league, but as Getafe are in the final, they'll take the UEFA place instead. I think that now the only way the team in 7th would qualify for the UEFA would be if Getafe finished in the top 6.

Re: Spain 19/20 May

Yes, I know Sutible. However, Getafe's players are playing for their places in the Cup final. Espanyol have absolutely nothing whatsoever to play for, and will be drained after last night. I still certainly think Getafe look worth a shot at that kind of price.

Re: Spain 19/20 May

Small punt on Getafe right after the UCup final
Theres a Galician holiday celbrating .. the Galicians and i was thinking teams like Depo & Celta would be swept in a wave of pride and glory and would win so that means Sociedad & Sevilla will have to lose Any thought?

Re: Spain 19/20 May

There was a Madrid holiday earlier this month, Monty, and if it hadn't been for the fact my girlfriend was off work, I wouldn't even have noticed , so not sure about the wave of pride and glory thing. Having said that, as I said earlier in the week, there's no way I'll be touching Sevilla at the kind of price currently available, and I'm certainly considering laying them against Deportivo.

I struggle to imagine Celta getting anything from their game against Sociedad. Stranger things have happened though.

Bet 365 are offering Ath Madrid 3.60 win/3.30 draw looks good to me as Barca are not performing at present,
Past Matches
21.12.2006 Barcelona - Atl. Madrid 1 - 1 (1 - 0)
05.02.2006 Barcelona - Atl. Madrid 1 - 3 (0 - 1)

01.09.2002 Barcelona - Atl. Madrid 2 - 2 (1 - 1)
===============================================
Real Madrid also have a tough game away at Recreativo who thumped them 3-0 in Dec in Madrid ,although this was in the period Real were in a mess beating nobody .Real are in a good run at present 1 loss in the last 8 games whereas Rect' have 2 wins in the past 8 games.

Real are 1.66 with bet365

Last 5 home matches
Recreativo Real Madrid
Recreativo - Ath. Bilbao 0 - 0
Recreativo - Rac. Santander 4 - 2
Recreativo - Celta Vigo 4 - 2
Recreativo - Barcelona 0 - 4

Re: Spain 19/20 May

The question is: " Which Basque team will be relegated"
Bilbao or Sociedad?
I strongly believe that "big shots" already know the answer, pity it's not me!

Zaragoza is playing good, but they're far away for CL, and frankly, they're not CL material, yet.
Uefa Cup spot is what they got, and that's it.
Also, thier form is in a clear downtrend with only one win in last five, vs. Celta.
On the other hand, Bilbao is playing awful, but as one of the oldest Primera sides, with great connections, I just cant see them in Segunda.
Smell possibly surprise here.

Sociedad has to win and to stay in a game before two matches vs. their fellow Basques teams, Osasuna and Santander...Celta looks really helpless, so it could be HW.

Betis plays vs. relegated team and anything but 3 pts. is completely out of question.
They managed to hold Barca, and they're in front two difficult games vs. direct rivals: Celta(away) and Osasuna(home).

And once more with Real.
Yes, Huelva is good, nothin more, average ... with one win in last five vs. modest Santander at home...and Real is Real, and they wont this victory.

Re: Spain 19/20 May

Levante v Osasuna
Think Levante is set to continue its momentum from last week and Osasuna seem depressed since the UCup and are done for the season..

As far as Depo are concerned, its hard to believe that Sevilla can beat them 4 times in a season but Depo seem unable to win any thing so i took the AH and a smaller punt on the draw.. Best of luck

Re: Spain 19/20 May

Mallorca v Valencia
I`m with RC , Mallorca is overpriced they are on great run and Valencia is struggling in away games.........

Real Betis v Gimnastic
Betis is going to win but no way I’m going to place a bet on those odds, if we looking at the current form Nastic is playing much better.....
Betis 1-6-3....9:13
Nastic 3-1-6....6:13
Nastic is playing terible in away games but i just don`t think that Betis should be so big favorite in this match ,they are without a win six rounds at home and odds for them are joke @1.40

Real Zaragoza v Athletic Bilbao
Zaragoza is great at home but again i think Bilbao could take at least point from this game...

Villarreal v Racing Santander
I fancy a draw in this match although Villarreal is in great form with four wins in a row....
Santander is having problems in attack they didn`t score in three games.

Real Sociedad - Celta
Big no bet ...
Sociedad is much better form ,Celta is shit with four loses in a row ,five in away games in four of them they didn`t score, maybe is going to end with a draw most frequent result between this two.

Deportivo La Coruna - Seville
I fancy Sevilla in this match...

Espanyol - Getafe
I don`t fancy anything in this match....

Levante - Osasuna
This match is important for both teams but i think that Osasuna is overpriced and i would go with them with couple of pts...

Recreativo - Real Madrid
Real is playing great but i don`t understand those funny odds@1.60
When they war playing away against Bilbao @1.80 ,Celta @1.90 and now they are playing against a team that is playing great at home, just one loss(from Barca) in last 8 home games and now they are so big favorites

Atletico Madrid - FC Barcelona
I think this match could be the game that is going to decide for the champion ,big no bet.....
