Drogheda(-1) V Cobh @13/10: Gonna chance Drogheda on the (-1) handicap this evening. 13/10 seems a fair price. Droghedas home form won them the title last season and they tended to do well against the lesser clubs in the division (They beat Waterford and Sligo 3-0) They haven't been scoring too many so far this season which is a slight concern but this looks like a good chance to change that.

Sporting Fingal V Limerick(+1) @4/6: Limerick are a decent away team and only the top two in the division won more games on the road last season. Sporting beat Athlone last weekend but thats much too brag about in fairness. Limerick should be good enough for a draw at least.

Hm, Chief77, what do you think of taking AH -1 on St. Patrick's ? Should be a sure win at least by one, so should not be such a big risk for not bad value...

I miss the irishsocceronline so much, damn... ;(

Staying away from this one myself ScorpioRed. St Pats are missing Barry Ryan and Dessie Byrne who are regulars in their 1st 11. I remember Galway beating St Pats last season in St Pats ground so I won't be betting on this match. Good luck with your pick though.

There is a new website that isn't bad for team news etc called Extratime.ie - sporting news, stats, match results, features and news Its a brand new website so it hasn't got news for all the games yet but its improving every week. Check it out.

Hello Scorpio. The team news for Galway United is not very good with this game. We are very short up front with Derek Glynn now ruled out. We didnt get beaten by more than one goal very often last year so i dont know how i would feel about backing st pats on the handicap though.

There is not really anything that i fancy in the premier division. The season still hasnt settled down so im going to take a watching brief until a few more rounds have been played. I would have a slight leaning towards Sligo Rovers and UCD on Asian Handicaps. Bohemians are missing a few and Sligo Rovers are hard to beat in Sligo especially seen as when Drogheda drew there last week they said it was like playing on a ploughed field. I had a look at under 2.5 for that game but that option is horrible value. UCD had a good win over Bray last week and they always seem to come up with a decent team no matter who they lose in the summer.

In the first division i would have preferences for Shelbourne to beat Monaghan. The price at coral during the week of 5/4 was very decent but it is gone now and prices are down around evens. Shels will be challenging this year while monaghan are always around the 2 or 3 last position in this division. Mons were well beaten in Dundalk last week 3-0 while Shels got their first win of the season 3-1 in Kildare. I can see the odds on Shels to win this fixture when it comes round again later in the season being about 4/5.
Waterford are another team i think should win away when they play against Athlone. Athlone apparently were shambolic in their first game of the season last week losing 2-0 at Sporting Fingal. Waterford were poor in the premier division last year but they have managed to keep most of the team together and they have started well and by all accounts should have beaten Longford last week but were caught by a late goal.
The more that Sporting Fingals price edges up the more i would be tempted to back them. I see they are @2.66 on betfair at the moment while still being lower than evens in some bookies. They have signed some good league of ireland players and limerick are nothing to write home about. One of my friends works with one of the limerick 37 players who told him that their preseason prepartion was poor.

I think its got draw written all over it Broms. Wouldn't be overly surprised if Dundalk could nick it maybe 1-0 but i'm thinking a low scoring draw. Hopefully they won't lose anyway.

Weathers grand over here, bit nippy but not overly windy. Tables should start taking shape over the next week or two. Good luck with your bets.

Cork V Derry @Evens: Was trying to stay away from this one all day but I've failed! Just have a nagging feeling things will finally click for Cork tonight. Derry have a real problem in goals after all their last fit keeper got injured during the week. They've had to draft in an 18 year old kid from TNS(Welsh side?) so that can only help Cork

Re: 21-22 Mar: Rep Ireland

Didnt have the time to check the Second, but here is my opinion for the First Div

Cork -Derry. Corka re haveing a huuge scoring problem, and with that in mind I would rather go for a Derry win that go with the bookies and wait for cork to start scoring. They were quite dominant in the Setanta game at home to Drogs but have not shown any real treat to the goal for long periods of game. SO I would be less surprised to see Derry scoring a winner from some counter attack.

Drogs - Cobh Drogs know pretty well how to handle these teams, and though I wouldn bet on them scoring fast, the second half should be theirs, and I see a comfortable win. If it is worht the odds

St Pats - Galway No way to bet a HW with these odds. I know Pats are claear favs, but with some missings, there is not a single reason to beleieve they will just do it. Galway are no mugs, not a great team, but solid. No bet

Harps - UCD I love this one, UCD have shown some nice form in the first to games, were scoring without much trouble, and everything points to an in form team. Still, they are not that great really and the Ballybofey game is I really believe the type of game where the bubble bursts. Harps are not the worst team in the league, pretty able to control the game and they will know how to block UCD from flying too high. Simply this is the night where things go back to normal.HW

Shams - Bray Bray are plain terrible this season, despite a point in the first round, Shamrock are very stable, both physically and psychologically, so there is nothing to point to any kind of chance Bray have. Wouldnt be surprised to see a 5-0 win

Sligo - Bohs Bohs are first choice for the new champion, and I believe it will have to show very early in the league. Somehow I think AW is worth a shot, though it should be a part of a series of Bohs win bets to make profit, but I will go for it
