Spain 13th April

Sporting Gijon look a potentially decent bet tomorrow away to Malaga. This game is 2nd v 3rd, but Malaga have been stuttering a bit of late, and although they've got an excellent 10-4-1 home record, they've drawn 2 of their last 3 homes, to Ejido (bottom) and Albacete (3rd from bottom). Sandwiched in between those games, they also managed to lose away to the remaining relegation zone team, Xerez.

Sporting are unbeaten in 8, and have the 2nd best away record in the division, 7-6-3, and have won away to Numancia (top) and Sociedad (4th) this season.

Team news pretty much in Sporting's favour - Malaga have an important first team defender suspended, Weligton, while Sporting will have one of their most important players, midfielder Kike Mateo (their 2nd top scorer) back, although he may start on the bench.

Malaga v Sporting Gijon @ 3.87 6pts

Re: Spain 13th April

Why are Getafe @ 3.05 home to a side with 1 away win and 11 defeats in 15? Something to do with something but what? Some kind of motivational thing? I'm sure this will seem a very silly question but I'm curious.

Cheers, broms. I caught the Bayern highlights but wasn't accounting for how greatly that might affect them. Poor wee souls. I was just gazing at Saragossa's away record and thinking 'what the hell?'

Re: Spain 13th April

Think Bromsgrove has just about covered everything there. Not so sure the UEFA game will be a problem for them mentally, but physically it will. Like Bromsgrove said, they played 115 minutes with 10 men, and even at the start of the game they already had several players either injured or playing despite not being 100%

Still wouldn't be tempted on Zaragoza really, though. They're in freefall, just 4 points from their last 9 games. 40pts is usually enough to avoid relegation, and that's how many Getafe have at the moment, but I have a feeling more may be required this year. A win for Zaragoza today would leave Getafe just 4pts above the relegation zone with 6 games to go, and leave them looking nervously over their shoulders, so I don't think they can afford to just write this game off.

Really not sure what to expect from this game, but I certainly wouldn't want to be backing Zaragoza as favourites.
