Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005

good show Matty and remember who put you forward to be a PL mod

sorry

matches on the net Funkt. Ive never heard of anything so funny all day. We wont even be getting live scores. Need to wait for the players to get home and post the results. We'' know about 1-2am Sat morning our time i'd say. Ive asked about live scores. I'll ask someone to text me possibly the scores.

I have a number for that local radio station Matty. The one that does a weekly review Wednesday night 7pm. I might phone it up and ask all my questions in one go each week. Its a phone in show and i got the number. Wednesday we were slow in here with server probs so never got the time

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005

nah Funkt as Matty says the A League is the big league and has all the pro teams (i think) from all the states.

The regional leagues are pretty low key affairs as i think its still their second sport. I'll ask tonight though.

First of all i gotta mention Wanneroo. Look at their predictions and look at the 4/5 price. Remember they DONT bet on their games and most are players and know their game well. I was interested in Wanneroo from the off but i think i might chance them in a rather large single in my first foray into Aussie football.

I better go read back as when i read about Stirling Suns i thought 'bloody hell their as bad as East stirling' the only think that left me in any doubt was not knowing anything about Morley. Looks like their well fancied and from some of the scorelines the 4/5 could be good.

I need to go look for the reason why i think Stirling Sons are so bad and to look into what someone emailed me-

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005

aye theyv scored 3 goals and let in 21 in 6 games. Morley aint world beaters themselves so i better check. Stirling managed to hold Mandurah last week but i dont think the form accounts for much. Need to know Morleys away form really.

Ive made a post over there and will report back.

The way things stand im VERY confident in-

Wanneroo @4/5
Perth 1/3
Sorrento @ 8/15

Need to look more at Morley and Inglewood.

I could be back into W Kings (last years winners) after reading this just now-

Quote:
Player power seems to be alive and well at Floreat Athena. The players have threatened to strike if the committee do not sack Mike Roki and Taki Nicco. Captain Adrian Sutton was quoted " Peter Coci must be made coach immediately, all of the players have had enough ! Roks and Taki are clueless !! We will not improve unless we are coached by Peter Coci. He has all the players backing. "
The big Kiwi has been instrumental in ousting some coaches before at Floreat. John Adshead, Terry Sumbodi, John Hunter and Julio Moreno just to name some of his victims. Even fitness coach Mirco Jelecic and Goalkeeper coach Glenn Gudici were not missed by the moody Kiwi. He said "Mirco's warm ups were boring and monotonous, so he had to go and under Glenn's goalkeeper coaching Anthony Mori went from being a poor keeper to downright hopeless".

Stay tuned as events unfold.

got this from sharpie-

Generally crowds range from a couple of guys & their dogs to a few hundred in some cases.

Morley & Wanneroo are sound bets. Wanneroo are currently the pacesetters & are unbeaten.Their are a cut above the rest of this league at the moment & I can't see them slipping up at Queens Park. Morley should account for the Suns as well as their spirits are high right now & seem to have picked a few more quality players.

From the other games I fancy Mandurah to beat Gosnells & Callies might be a chance against Balcatta.
SWP & F'Field is a tough one, I'd favour a home win but if I was a betting man wouldn't punt on this one.

Had a wee look at the Daily Punt, good stuff..

I play down at Rockingham and recently played with Stirling until the start of the year. We are undefeated so far this year and have had major injuries since the start of the season but we have a couple of key players back this week and I think we will be hard to beat away at Kingsway..

Keep an eye on Bassendean they got relegated last year and have recently changed manager 2 weeks ago so I think their form will pick up as they only lost 2 players from the team last year..

Apart from that Balcatta and Wanneroo are the top 2 sides. Mandurah, Rockingham and Bassendean to round out the Top 5 sides.

South West Phoenix are usually a tough side when playing

i have been reading your forum. very interesting. as i have said before i am happy to give you an honest evaluation on the local games as i talk through my pocket and not through my heart. i have played in the local first division for 15 years and 2 years in the second division. i have a fair understand of all the clubs in both leagues and there are some clubs you will back most weeks and certain clubs you will back against most weeks and other clubs that are too inconsistant and would prefer to watch.
noticed you were talking with geordie the other day. he doesn't mind a chat. fyi at best he will only get 2 of the players back. be careful.
happy punting.

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005

just noticed that Hills price on Inglewood (4/9) is a lot shorter than the 4/11 skybet are offering. Still could be interested. Perth @ 2/5 is worth a big hit if you can trust me on my first week. Maybe you shouldnt go to daft in the first few weeks but i see them winning this by 3 or 4 goals.

Sorrento are 8/13 in places too. I dunno. Nah ..nah i dunno.

Guys, good site. Don't write Joondalup off against Cockburn. Last week we had 5 players missing, this week we have 4 of them back and are ready to rock and roll.

Joondalup did catch my eye as well (beware I know fcuk all yet about Aussie football) on the basis that players will be returning.

I see that Hills and Skybet are not very sporting - trebles only. Thanks but no thanks.

Bet365 come to the rescue once again although their price is not so good. 3pts @ 11/8

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005

Hello and welcome Geordie I posted a welcome to you earlier before i went to bed this morning (sofa truth be told) but due to browser problems i lost it all

Its good to see you Geordie and feel free to browse TDP at your leisure. We've only been operational for just over 2 weeks but we've high hopes for the place once the UK football season starts again probably end of July in Scotland so we've a wee bit of time yet. We gave you community member status Geordie so you can access all TDP forums and good luck later with your team.

I got to admit Geordie/WAS i'm sitting this one out still this week but am praying for a Joon win. If you win as hoped Geordie theyre saying that they expect you to go on a wee run so i'll definetly be keeping an eye out on my adopted fav Australian team's reports. again good luck later Geordie and GET INTO THEM COCKBURN *%&£$%$s!!!

Right down to the business of getting my coupon fine tuned. Wanneroo + Perth are already in so i can forget about them for now. Inglewood i liked but i just read this on bayswater's forum. Sounds like goodforthegame is part of the staff at Stirling-

Quote:
Not being cocky or parochial big K, but our lads Stirling have definately trained on well after breaking the ice with our first win last week and I would definately take the odds on a win or draw, we matched them in the cup game pre season and the Irish lads have definately settled in and are having a bigger influence on the park (and the Onyx bar!! ).

Others games fairly easy with the big guns Perth, Sorrento and Knights all in line for a win and probably Swan at home and ECU at home as the other likely winners, although maybe a draw in both could be possible.

Hope you clean up on the punt
Big K is me btw you can all start calling me it if you want.

Cheers goodofthegame and its enough for me to leave Inglewood out for this week but again i would be very interested to see how this one pans out for future referance.

I still like W Knights to beat Athena. Found it hard to belive that theres an Athenian player who has orchestrated the sacking of 4 of the previous managers. No one is safe from this fella it would appear as he even managed to get the Psysio and Tea Lady sacked. sounds like they should give him the job and see how he bloody does.

Im still a litle worried about Knights in this one. seems like theres a bit of bad blood between the sides. I's would appear that one of the clubs (prob Knights won the last encounter by a few though its expected to be a lot closer this time. I'll wait to see what the sore was last time etc but i could still add Knights but possibly not on my main treble. I just like the fact Knights were last years title winners, Athena hating their manager and his tactics and Savic being out as being a big loss for Athena.

Re: Australian Football - 28th May 2005

Just reading this about a main player leaving Bayswater. The only reason i wasnt backing sorrento was because i was worried about Bayswater's midfield. This could be a kick in the balls for Bayswater though

Quote:
Yeah very dissapointed that Kevin has left the club, he is one the favourites down at bayswater, a true captain and leader. Dont know why he left but i wish it didnt happen
yip i like it.

Yep, many thanks to our Aussie friends. Great stuff. Brilliant in fact.

I think I signed up at that Victoria forum too Matty but overall I was struggling to find much outwith the Prem league. I won't give up though.

Good luck everyone.
