Re: Ireland 31 May- 01 Jun

Cork City V Derry City @10/11: Time to get revenge on Derry for letting me down on numerous occasions this season. Cork's away form is the reason that they're struggling in the league this year. At home they've been very good and are unbeaten this season. In their last 6 home games they've beaten St Pats Bohs, Dungannon and Portadown. All decent teams.

Cork have an excellent home record against Derry and the last 13 meetings read 13 wins and 3 draws. Cork went up to Derry in April and thrashed them 4-1. Derrys recent form has been poor and they travel without their best player the brilliant Pat McCourt tonight. Home win for me.

Drogheda(-1) V Longford @5/6: Relegation certs Longford had a nightmare against Galway during the week and the 3-0 loss surely means they'll be playing 1st division football next season. Drogheda on the other hand have had a bit of a dodgy spell but bounced back in style away to Sligo during the week. Longford haven't won an away game all season and that stat should still be the same after this game tonight. Drogheda welcome back Gartland who's a decent player.

Finn Harps v Limerick @11/8: Bit of a risky one here going against in form Limerick but I reckon after a poor start to the season Harps are finally back on track. They've lost just once in 5 games(against 2nd place Cobh) and they gave Dundalk a scare a couple of weeks ago when it ended 0-0.

Harps know they must win tonight to have any chance of reaching the play off spot. Limerick have had a great season so far but I don't think they'll have enough to go all the way up to Donegal and win/draw the game.

Verdict:
Cork City @10/11 Confidence 6/10
Drogheda(-1) @5/6 Confidence 7/10
Finn Harps @11/8 Confidence 5/10

Good luck to all.

Feeling confident about Cobh Ramblers.

Lost only twice this season, and both defeats were far in two opening rounds!
9 victories, interrupted also twice, but vs. strong opponents such as Dundalk & Limerick, both times 0-0.
In first game they beat Kilkenny 2-0, and can't see why not support them again.

Friday's Irish Accu:
Cobh
Cork 1x
Drogheda
St.Patricks

Suppose luck was ours and Harps

First time for me to watch Eircom league match and first time i've ever heard Irish.
How ignorant of me!!! i thought the Irish speak English, the commercials were in English though
It sounded to me a bit like Scandinavian and a bit like Turkish
Couldnt make out a single word but the names..
Never felt so Stupid, I thought when they say Irish they mean English with a think accent

Monty, I'd say 99% of us speak English daily but Irish is the national language and I assume you were watching the game on tg4 which is our national station in the Irish language. The majority of Irish people can speak a little Irish but very few would actually be fluent. Irish is spoken in areas known as Gaeltacht, mainly in the west of Ireland.
As for why we started speaking English - ask the English

Bad set of results for me with only Finn Harps doing the business. Well done Monty! Really can't believe that Drogheda result. 1-1 at home against a poor Longford team. It seems nobody wants to win the league this year. Sorry to all who followed.
