UCD boss Pete Mahon has confirmed he will be shuffling his pack, "We're going to make a couple of changes to the side. We've had a lot of midweek fixtures with no chance to rest," said UCD manager Pete Mahon. We'll bring in a few players that haven't had as much of a chance [as others] to play in the first team."

Mahon has suggested the club's recent schedule hasn't helped his preparations, "Training has been limited, the sessions have been more about recovering than anything else. This is the form team in the league at the moment (Cork City) so this game will be a big test for us."

With his side virtually safe in the Premier Division and preparing for an FAI Cup semi-final (possibly against Cork City) at the end of the month, his reasoning is understandable but Cork will be still gunning for both European and Setanta football via a league route.
should we continue with backing Cork?

Re: Eircom Irish League

Not a bad weekend with Cork and Waterford delivering at nice prices. Shame about the overs in the UCD match, thought at 1-1 with 20 mins to go I might get that one up. Shels continue to torment me with a 0-0 draw against crappy Kilkenny.

UCD V Cork @5/6: Gonna tentatively back Cork to continue their recent good form against UCD this evening. They have a realistic chance of finishing in 2nd place now after the weekends results and they play against a side who are almost certain to stay up and who don't really have much motivation for tonights game. The UCd boss has admitted as much by saying hes gonna rest a few players this evening.

Cork recently beat UCD 4-1 with ease down in Turners Cross and while tonights game should be a lot closer I reckon they can sneak a win by a goal and lift themselves up to 2nd place in the table. Behan is in great form lately for Cork and with Farrelly and Healy both fit again they have a really good team right now.

Verdict:
Cork @5/6 Confidence 5/10

Wouldn't fancy that bet myself geor. Belfield is a tight little ground and there doesn't tend to be too many goals between these two teams when UCD are at home. 8 ogf the last 10 games have ended in unders.

That said, Cork may well score a few tonight if Mahon rests a few of his more important players. Still think though that as long as UCd put out a relatively strong team then this will be a low scoring game with maybe a 1 or 2-0 Cork win.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Looking good for all the Cork backers so far. 2-0 at half time with that man Behan on the scoresheet again. You're overs bet is on course as well geor. Hoepfully we'll see a 3rd goal for you.
