Can't find out at the moment, Specs, will have to wait until the papers do their previews, probably either tonight or tomorrow morning. At a guess I'd say the suspension will be for the league, not the cup, but I'm not sure about that.

Re: Copa del Rey 12/12/07

Only bet for me tonight is Elche to beat Betis. Elche's manager apparently is not a fan of rotations, and may well be going with the same line-up that beat Castellon at the weekend. Elche are a decent home side, 5-2-1 this season in the Segunda. Betis meanwhile are without a few important players, including their joint top scorer Sobis, and their 2 first choice keepers, meaning they'll have the keeper from their B team playing tonight. Betis's manager has already admitted that the league is the priority (although says he's still taking the cup seriously), and so Elche look worth a shot to me. With the game being over 2 legs, even if Betis lose by 1 goal they'll probably not be too disappointed, as they'll still have the home leg to come.

Elche v Betis @ 3.1 4pts

Not interested in any of the other games. Osasuna and Mallorca are both making a lot of changes, making the game a bit of a lottery. Getafe should win but at such a short price I'm not prepared to risk them. And I might've been tempted by Granada 74 if Atletico hadn't been taking it so seriously, but it looks like Atletico are putting out a pretty strong team, so I'll give that one a miss as well.

Re: Copa del Rey 12/12/07

Following a depressingly similar pattern to last week's midweek Spanish bet for me. Back the home team at longer than 2/1, see them take the lead, get awarded a penalty, miss it, and then concede the equaliser. Last week Osasuna, this week Elche

The annoying thing is, last week you more or less followed me, but laid Sevilla rather than backing Osasuna, and that turned out to be the best tactic, as your bet won while mine lost. At the weekend I decided to follow that tactic, and rather than backing Granada 74 away to Ferrol at 3.1, I laid Ferrol at 2.68 (I think). Needless to say, Granada actually won. This week I go back to backing the team I fancy rather than opposing the one I don't, and it ends in a sodding draw again

Re: Copa del Rey 12/12/07 + 19/12/07

Might as well just bump this thread up seeing as there's only 3 more games this week.

Espanyol v D Coruna 1.80 3.25 4.20
Alicante v Real Madrid 7.50 4.20 1.36
Real Unión Irún v Valencia 7.50 4.60 1.36

Bet365

Not quite sure why Madrid and Valencia are the same price to be honest. Madrid are in great form and are playing a team 3rd in group 3 of the 2ªB, but who've already lost 3 times at home this season. Valencia are in terrible form, and are away to a team 5th in group 2 of the 2ªB, but who are unbeaten at home this season, 6-3-0.

Will wait until team news is out, but at the moment I'd say a lay of Valencia or some kind of handicap bet on Real Union is screaming out to be taken.

Never one to turn down a gift, Rouzhamo, but you could've at least wrapped it up a little bit. Wouldn't necessarily argue with either of your picks (pending team news anyway), and the first of those 2 is one that I'm considering myself, but a little bit of explanation of why you fancy those bets wouldn't go amiss.

Welcome to TDP anyway.

Re: Copa del Rey 12/12/07 + 19/12/2007

It's ok gills, I won't be sticking around. Just got directed to a comedy thread in your rags to riches section and decided to have a nosey around.

Not much reasoning necessary. Both outsiders are tough 2A sides. RM will rest a load of players prior to El Clasico, while Valencia are facking awful. It's all about prices anyway. Those two couldn't last. Worst case scenario, arb them off on Betfair.
