Are Barca and Real really kicking off at 5pm on Sunday? I would have thought it would have been moved for TV.

No, it's a 7pm kickoff over here, so 6pm for you in the UK.

That makes sense. Probably have the Bilbao game on SKY straight after it then.

Have to make a note to watch that one.

Lay of Barca RC?

Quite possibly mate.

Will see if I have time to look at this weekend's coupon on Friday, as on Saturday I'm off to the in-laws for Xmas so won't have a chance after that.

Good thread you have going on here rcgills. Where in Spain are you based/from, if you don't mind me asking.

One early bet for me. Not too original but it has to be Zaragoza at 5/4. They may not be in the best of form, but usually have no problems scoring goals at La Romareda. Until Valencia actually show any kind of fight or spark against top-level opposition I think they just have to opposed. They're in a complete mess, and it's getting worse by the day. It's not inconceivable that Tintin sorts a few things out during the break, so this is possibly the last chance to oppose this shambles of a side at a nice price.

I live in Madrid, Rouzhamo.

As regards Zaragoza v Valencia, no arguing that Valencia are very poor at the moment, but there are three things which put me off Zaragoza. Firstly Zaragoza are in just as bad form, no win in their last 6 now. Not sure whether they're playing particularly badly as I've not seen any of their games. Secondly, Valencia are top of the away table, with a 5-1-2 record. Admittedly with the arguable exception of Mallorca they've not beaten any particularly decent sides, but maybe away from the pressure of the expectation in the Mestalla things might not be quite as bad. And thirdly, they've got a very impressive recent record in Zaragoza. I'm not necessarily one to pay a huge amount of attention to H2Hs, as obviously players, managers and situations all change from year to year. However, some H2H records are emphatic enough to be worth considering. Valencia's record from their last 6 league visits to Zaragoza is 3-3-0, and from the last 10 visits it's 5-4-1. There was also a Spanish Super Cup game in Zaragoza in that period, which Valencia also won.

Odds of around 3.5 for Valencia and I could almost be tempted at that price. Then I think back to the last two games of theirs I've seen (Bilbao and Barcelona) and how pathetic they were. I don't know . I think you could argue a case either way to be honest.

Re: Spain La Liga (Dec 22-23)

Two games tonight in Segunda B group 1, Rayo v Marino and Pajara Playas v Celta B.

Have backed Pajara Playas in their game - they're 5th, Celta B are 10th, Pajara Playas are unbeaten at home (4-4-0) while Celta have won just once away from home (1-2-5). The league's top scorer, Goran Maric (10 goals) is suspended for Celta B.

Pajara Playas v Celta B @ 1.85 4pts

For the other game, I wouldn't put anyone with a Bet365 account off of Marino, at a huge 14/1. It's 7th v 17th, and Marino are yet to win away, so Rayo are rightly favourites for this one, but there's no way Marino should be a 14/1 shot. Their last two games saw them draw against the top 2 sides (at the time) Deportivo B and Pajara Playas. Rayo's home form isn't bad, 5-1-2 (the defeats were against Deportivo B and Pajara Playas), but they're not unbeatable. Marino could well end up getting crushed, but if Rayo have an off day, Marino stand an outside chance of causing an upset.

Rayo v Marino @ 15.0 1pt

Re: Spain La Liga (Dec 22-23)

Pajara Playas won 1-0, but Marino lost 3-0.

Only one bet for me this weekend (partly as I'll not be able to look into the Sunday games as it's too early now, and I'll not have the chance tomorrow).

Sporting may be 3rd but they're looking shaky, 2-1-5 for their last 8 games and 3 defeats in their last 4 homes. Alaves are 5 games unbeaten and I fancy their chances of winning this one.

Sporting v Alaves @ 3.6 2pts
(or for ODM, presumably a lay of Sporting at around 2.3 at the moment on Betfair).

Good luck to all for this weekend.
