One bet I'm taking in these early rounds is Sengkang Punggol to beat the Young Lions.

The Lions have got rid of some of their more experienced players (being, as they are, an Under-23 sqaud) and brought in a whole host of youngster, only a few of which have S-League experience. Particularly affected is the defence, losing Baihakki Khaizan, Moudourou Moise and Fabian Tan. The new defensive set-up will likely be inexperienced and will have to try and cope with experienced forwards Mirko Grabovac and Ivan Gongora.

Gombak United v Tampines Rovers

Gombak with a full side, pretty much the same team that finished last season quite strongly, especially at home.

Tampines with a great deal of change over the close season, losing some of their better players, especially the likes of Noh Alam Shah, Peres de Oliveira and Mirko Grabovac.
