Santos - Ponte Preta

*Well here we go again with Santos and under game. Santos are curently on the 1st place of Serie A, and they want to stay there after this game. Coach Luxemburgo said, that he tryed whole week to play with his team in 4-4-2 formation, but it's still question in which formation they will play against P.Preta. In defence Ronaldo Guiaro and Julio Manzur will play together, and right lateral Fabinho is back after injury... In the midlefield Cléber Santana can play and middle will be formed of this players: Maldonado, Wendel, Cléber Santana and Rodrigo Tabata. No fresh injuries and suspensions for Santos.

*P.Preta started well this season. They are curently on 7th place. Coach Oswaldo Alvarez have some injury problems for this game. Luciano Baiano right lateral have ankle problems and he will be substituted with Emerson. Ricardo Conceição is suspended, will be substituted by Da Silva who is back from suspension. Left lateral Iran can play on this game...

*This will be emotional game for Goias side. Last game with their coach Geninho, who will after this match be new coach of Corinthians (again after 3 years). They had great 2005. season with him on the helm. 3rd place in Brasiliero, this season they were in Copa Libertadores... No doubt players would like to give win to him at the end. For his farewell game against Vasko de Gama, caoach Geninho will be able to count on his best 11. Only suspended player is Júlio Santos. Goias started not so good this season, but they are no doubt good squad. I have no doubt they will play today for their coach.

*Flamengo today play against Fortaleza in 5th round of Brasiliero. Flamengo, curently on the 9th place of Brasiliero Serie A with 2 home wins, and two away defets. Today their mind will be on the thursday, when they play 1/2 of Copa Brasil. Coach Waldemar Lemos will most certanly rest some regulars becouse he wants them to be fit for Copa Brasil. He already confirmed that Jônatas who is suspended, Júnior, Obina and Vinícius Pacheco will not play 100% against Fortaleza. They will be saved for the game against the Ipatinga, but some other players are questionable for today, like Renato...
In the attack, two players will start: Ramirez and Diego Souza, and this will be first time in this season those two will start.

*On the other hand, Fortaleza is well known as good home team, but their away performances are not so good. They are curently on 10th place of Serie A with 6 pts. and two home wins. But, they had two hard away games against Santos and Botafogo, both lost, but they also won against mixet S.Paolo side and in my book pretty dangerous Sao Caetano side. Coach Márcio Bittencourt didn't want to speak much about his team on this one, but he said that they will try to get some points here. There is no fresh and important missings in Fortaleza team.

Parana - Corinthians

*This is game bettwen two injured teams. Parana started pretty bad these season, and they are now at 15th place with just 4 points from 4 games. They losed they main sponsor before of the start of Brasiliero and I suppose it's pretty difficoult to motivate players. But today champions are their oppponents and that could be a proper motivation for Parana players. Coach Caio Júnior have little problems with his keepers in this game. Both of them got injured against Fluminense, but its expected to both of them be fit for this game. Another bad news is that stricker Leonardo is still injured, so two players up front will be Cristiano and Zumbi.

*Timao is in all kinds of problems now. Team played good against S.Paolo but they lost. Nilmar and Tevez missed 3 sitters, Tevez had post, many chances really for Timao but no goal. This game is last game for coach Ademar Braga. And squad of Timao is injury and suspension riddeled. First of all, Carlitos Tevez and Mascherano left to Buenos Aires to be with Argentinian national squad. Mascherano is heart of this team, and Tevez is soul. Two big (maybe biggest) missings for Timao.
Second: Carlos Alberto is suspended (red card against S.Paolo). Well OK u will tell, Roger will substitute him and that is ok. Roger is maybe "smarter" player, who play for team, not like C.Alberto for himself.... Well, Roger is also out of the squad in this game. WHAT? Timao without midlefield? Looks like that...
Third: defender Betão and lateral Coelho will be saved also for this game. Oh yes, I forgot, Nilmar is doubtfull, but Gustavo Nery is back from injury k

*Last week I saw how big and serious is Sao Paolo side. They played extremly smart against Corinthians and won 3-1 in one pretty strange game. This week and again derby game for Tricolori. They are going to Estádio Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre to play against vice-champions International. Both teams played in mid week 1st leg of 1/4 final Copa Libertadores.

*After loss against Estudiantes, Sao Paolo side wants to won much games as possible before World Cup beggins. All players said that this is very important game for Sao Paolo and that win would be great thing... Another important detail is come back of coach Muricy Ramalho to Beira-Rio. Last season he was 2nd in Serie A with this team. Only worry for Tricolori coach is attacker Ricardo Oliveira, who is not 100% fit and will start from the bench.

*International also wants to perform well in Serie A, but for tonights game they have few important missings and doubtfull players. Tinga, Adriano and Mossoró are all out 100% for tonights game. Attacker Fernandão have muscle problems (right tight) and he is very doubtfull. So becouse of this missings International will most probably play with just one attacker, powerfull Rafael Sóbis or Renteria. Oh jes I forgot, Michel midlefielder have problems with right knee, and he is also very doubtfull.

Fluminense have 1/2 final 2nd leg Copa Brasil game against Vasko de Gama in thursday, and they will rest some regulars (Dejan "Rambo" Petkovic, and maybe one or two defenders)... Figueirense is not a top Brasilian side, but they have strong home field, so odds are fair IMHO...

Verdao side isn't so bad at all...They are top 7 team in Brasil IMO, but they had some injury and internal problems in the squad so far. For this game Edmundo, Washington (attackers) and Gammara (defender, maybe on of the best in league) are all back, so not an easy game for Cruzeiro...
