Re: 26-27 Apr: Spain

Surely Deportivo are screaming out to be backed at that price against Barca? They are the most in for team in Spain winning 7 of their last 9(beating Real Madrid and Seville along the way) and they are up against a Barca side who will surely rest a few of their big guns what with the 2nd leg of the Champions League Semi Final on Tuesday.

Gonna wait to hear Mr Rcgills thoughts before taking the plunge.

I'd say so, Chief, and they're on my shortlist, but not got time to look properly now, will try to post more detailed thoughts tomorrow.

Re: 26-27 Apr: Spain

Given the team news, I'm definitely with you, Chief. Barca without Iniesta and Milito through suspension, and Eto'o, Messi and Xavi are all left out in preparation for the champions league game this week. Yaya Toure is in the squad but is also expected to be rested.

As Chief has already said, Deportivo are in excellent form - 7 wins in their last 9, and they're 6-1-0 for their last 7 home games, beating Madrid and Sevilla in that run. Barca have only won 4 away games all season, only won 1 of their last 7 away games, and have conceded 11 in their last 4 aways. With their minds clearly on the champions league, and Deportivo eyeing the chance of a UEFA Cup place, the home win has to be value here. I've taken the 2.7 on Betfair, can only see that price dropping as people see the team news.

Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao Sunday 8pm Sky Sports 1

Go mad for Madrid - they're 13/10 to win -1 goal, and in this climate, that's a cracking bet.

Let's get this fixture into perspective. If Barca and Villarreal both slip up beforehand, Madrid could land the title here.

True, they'll know by kick-off time whether that's the case or not, but regardless, Los Merengues will want to turn on the style here.

The hosts have netted 41 goals in 16 home games, while Bilbao have been fairly predictable on the road, losing 50 percent of their away matches, and averaging less than a goal-a-game in the process.

True, they thumped Valencia last time out, but Madrid were equally impressive when winning at Racing, and have the quality to overcome the handicap - get on them to do so.
