EDIT - Folks, bit of news a few posts down concerning NE and i no longer find them such a value bet anymore and approach it with reduced stakes if your getting involved.
NE Revolution v Real Salt Lake (RSL)
Again, very similar to the DC game and not one that needs much said on it. Some bookies go 1.40 on the home win and thats about right imo so the 1.57 at
Hills is a decent price.
Like mentioned earlier in the thread NE have had a rest they have been after for a while now after a hectic schedule. The same cannot be said for RSL who have just come off a midweek game that went to extra time and had an additional 30 minute delay due to storms so some fatigue should be creeping in here.
NE have a good bone to their side and although they have been conceding goals lately i cannot see RSL causing them too much problems.
Noonan came off the bench last week and he should be fit and a starter which will be a boost to them.
Dempsey has come back better than ever after a good showing in the world cup chipping in with 3 goals so far.
The Revs struggled whilst they were missing him to the WC and since he has returned they have looked like the side of last season where for the best part of the season looked like they wouldn't be stopped.
A good reliable home outfit and if they really hit it off RSL could be on to a bit of a doing.
After a mini resurgence RSL are now winless in 6 games now and having watched their last game its obvious to see why.
No fight in midfield. No quality to hold the ball up and distribute well and strikers who are really struggling to find the net.
Cunningham was dropped last week due to his poor showing recently which is mad when you think as he is their top goalscorer this season.
Defensively they look quite weak again which is strange as their 2 best defenders (pope and sequira) were at the world cup you would expect their defence to struggle but they didn't and put in some great performances. Now these 2 have returned you would've thought they would be even better now but its not the case and they look very dodgy again.
The full backs are a huge cause for concern right now imo as teams are getting behind them time after time and if the opposition could make better final balls their results would be worse than they are.
This is where Dempsey and Noonan could get an awful lot of joy.
Odds suggest NE are the dominant side mind and after a good few weeks in MLS i don't feel there are any real good bets so its probably best to stick with the safer ones, even if they are at shorter odds.
NE to win @ 1.57 William Hills (7/10)
NE -1 euro handicap @ 2.5 Bet 365 (2/10)
