Re: MLS 14th July - 16th July

Well first thoughts in what looks like it could be a tricky weekend.

Metrostars a no bet game if i ever knew one. Metrostars haven't been playing as bad as their form suggests and they are just struggling to score goals as they have been creating plenty of chances.

Colorado not the best of travellers and i just don't like nothing from this game.

NE is a bit too short. I have no doubts they will beat a very poor travelling RSL side who are just out of all ideas right now.

Noonan back from injury at weekend which was a boost and he will possibly start and thats the exciting trio of him, twellman and dempsey back together which could potentially have a field day here against RSL.

Chicago look good. They had their first home defeat at the weekend but they actually impressed me and NE struggled to get the ball out their half in the second half.

Creating plenty of chances and just not getting the breaks, bar that they have been as solid as they come at home.

Dallas play has dropped for me in a big way the last few weeks and i will need to check and get an update but star striker Ruiz got injured at the weekend and his status i am unsure of but if he is missing then thats a huge blow to Dallas.

Wow - DC United @ 1.95. Jesus christ thats a bloody superb bet and im away to have some of that right now infact and that wont last.

Columbus struggling to score goals and not the best away from home up against the best side in MLS at the money who have lost 1 game all season. That price is way inflated and should be more around the 1.50 mark for me.

Im going big on that.

Kansas another i like - they faired well at the weekend with their WC trio back in the line up together for the first time in over a month.

Unlucky to go down to last minute goal and there is plenty to come from them now in the cmoing weeks.

LA v Chivas is the big super classico derby match and that has been priced perfectly and i won't go near it but will be watching it as it should be a superb game.

More to come in the next few days.

Shortlist

New England to win @ 1.55
DC United to win @ 1.95
Chicago to win @ 2.35
Kansas to win @ 2.45

Re: MLS 14th July - 16th July

1.55 ? -toooo short for NE

ny-colorado
maybe is time new coach of n.y. to show something ,colorado is fucking terrible in away games so home win for me in this game....

chicago-dallas in this game draw is very posible, chicago is creating chances but problem with realisation.....

DC 1.95 ???-thet must be something wrong with bookies ,dc wos 2.3 away and now is 1.95 i don`t understand the logic in this( one of my local shops allready cut the price from 1.8 to 1.5 thet more real),thet price not gonna stay for long ,columbus is having problems with scoring and they not gonna score against best defence in the league.....

chivas-la , i think over is good bet for this game,
kiko if i `m not wrong both teams is playing at same place, home depot centar??

odds for kanzas are good but houston is king of draw ,they are defending very well, they are playing very low scoring games away so maybe under??

Re: MLS 14th July - 16th July

Right now, it's DC and NE for me. I really like the fact that NE will be rested. Right now there is a chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for the NE game. I'll keep an eye out for any changes.

Yep Igor, you are correct, both LA and Chivas play their home games at the HDC.

Re: MLS 14th July - 16th July

Aye DC looked enormous that price. Was going to be most likely my biggest ever bet aswell

Maybe be a bit cautious with DC guys as they have a friendly against my team Celtic and then an MLS game 2 days later i think it is.

You'd imagine they will have a strong line up out as this is a game to try and catch the eye of a big european club.

Re: MLS 14th July - 16th July

Let me clarify for you Silke. I've been scanning some NE fan forums and the concensus is they have looked tired lately. They played 3 games in a 7 day period--7/1, 7/4, and 7/8. Then factor in the WC for Dempsey and you have a team that's been looking a bit fatigued lately. They don't play until Friday, so they'll actually get a little rest this week. This should lead to some fresh legs for the RSL game.

RSL plays the Virginia Beach Mariners (USL1) tonight in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Looks like RSL will be the team with 3 games in 7 days this week.

SALT LAKE CITY -- Real Salt Lake exercised their depth and endured to the end Tuesday in their second foray into the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against the Virginia Beach Mariners.

To be sure, after a 30-minute lightning delay and another 30 minutes of overtime, Real were exhausted after earning a 2-1 victory against the United Soccer League's First Division team. It was the first Open Cup victory in Real history.
Never the ideal preparation and NE to beat RSL seems to be the safest bet in MLS this weekend although poor odds.

Might put them in a double with DC actually at just over evens.

RSL did rest a few players mind but its still going to be a draining encounter for them never the less.

Nice one Wilco. Should be a decent game certainly and could be plenty of goals if both play to their strengths.

Be interesting to hear your thoughts when you return on the difference of atmosphere between the US and Europe as it always seems a bit quiet from the live feeds i watch.

Have a good time

Red Bulls goalkeeper Meola to miss 2-3 weeks

Associated Press

Wed, Jul 12, 2006

SECAUCUS, N.J. -- New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Tony Meola will miss the next two to three weeks with a bacterial infection in his right foot and ankle.

The Red Bulls face the Colorado Rapids on Friday as +158 underdogs on PinnacleSports.com.

Team spokesman Matt Chmura said Wednesday it wasn`t known what caused the infection. Meola missed two games with a left calf injury earlier in the season.

Meola, a five-time Major League Soccer All-Star who holds the record among goalies for the most appearances with the U.S. national team, is 1-6-7 in 14 starts this season for the Red Bulls. He leads all MLS goalkeepers in saves with 75 and in save percentage (.789).

New York is last in the Eastern Conference with a 2-6-8 record.

Jon Conway, 1-0-1 in two starts this season, will start in goal for the Red Bulls when they host Colorado on Friday.
