Any news on Shelbourne problems with the players ?
Dublin City were able to cause problems to Shels, am I right ?

A risky home win ?

Re: Irish Premier League: 14th-16th July

My advice is to be cautious and wait until late Friday before deciding on any bets.

The reason for this is because the Transfer window is open and there has already been a fair amount of activity with probably more to come. This could turn the form book on its head

Waterford, for example, may look like an obvious bet to lose at home to Sligo but be wary. They have taken back Reynolds from Shelbourne. He was their player/manager until the middle of last season and he only left because of the financial crisis at that time. There are also rumours of four "quality" signings from abroad who may or may not be quality, who may or may not sign and even if they do they may or may not be fit.

Dickie has been assigned the No.1 jersey at Goodison which is a bit ominous

Re: Irish Premier League: 14th-16th July

shelbourn is impresive in h2h in last 6 games.....
but odds are very loooow

Dublin City Shelbourne Dublin FC 0:1 Mon 08-05-2006

Dublin City Shelbourne Dublin FC 1:3 Fri 04-06-2004
Shelbourne Dublin FC Dublin City 2:1 Fri 09-04-2004

i think saint could take 3 points from this game ,but then h2h is too fuck up for saints, they don`t have win at home ground in last 5 games(4 loses and 1 draw),maybe is abouth a time to change thet..

maybe waterford could make some miracle and take the 3 points in this game?
h2h is very good for them ,in game between this to team home ground is essential.....

Waterford v Sligo
Waterford have recruited 4 players this week but no sign of the "quality" foreigners. Must of been a red herring.
New blood can breath new life into a club but I wouldn't get carried away with the recruits. They consist of a new keeper, an experienced, if ageing, midfielder from Shelbourne's fringe players, a promising 16 year old and another player on loan from Shelbourne who in fact has been on loan with them for most of the season anyway.
I am happy to take 11/10 on a Sligo victory against a team who have only taken 3 points all season

Preview: Limerick v Athlone Town

Limerick will be hoping to re-extend their lead at the top of the first division tonight as they host Athlone Town. Both sides fell to defeat on Tuesday night. In Limerick's case it allowed the chasing pack get closer to the first division leaders but in Athlone's case it saw them slip away from that chasing pack.
Limerick vs Athlone Town
(Hogan Park - 7:45 pm - Division 1)
Referee : Padraigh Sutton
Limerick have to plan without John Lester who was sent off in the 3-1 loss to Dundalk.
Athlone will try to pick themselves up after a shock and heavy home loss to Monaghan in midweek. Eric Lavine should return after a one game ban.
League form for Limerick : LWLLW

Preview: Dublin City v Shelbourne

Jason Byrne returns to the Shels line-up.

It's back to the grind of League action for Shelbourne after their European hopes ended last Sunday. On Friday night they look to win a fifth straight league game as they travel to face Dublin City. The Vikings have slipped well off the pace recently.
Dublin City vs Shelbourne
(Dalymount Park - 7:45 pm - Premier)
Referee : Anthony Buttimer
Despite coming within seconds of beating Drogheda at United Park on 26th June, that draw is their only point in their last five league outings. They have slipped to ninth in the table and have a tough task ahead of them on Friday to halt that run.
Lee Roche is in line for his Dublin City debut after signing from St. Pats. Robbie Collins, Ger McCarthy and Robbie Hedderman are all out injured. Dave McGill returns after suspension.
Jason Byrne returns after missing Shels' Intertoto Cup exit through suspension. Gary O'Neill is still out while he recovers from his knee injury while Alan Moore could play after recovering from the injury which forced him off early against Odense. Jim Crawford is nearing a return.
Alan Reynolds left the club for Waterford this week with Liam Kearney still missing in action.

Preview: St. Patrick's Athletic v Bohemians

Mark Leech, could make his debut for Bohs.
Saint Patrick's Athletic have slipped up in recent weeks and have lost two of their last three league games. Their fifth place spot comes under pressure on Friday night while Bohemians will be hoping to make it two away wins on the trot.
St. Patricks Athletic vs Bohemians
(Richmond Park - 7:45 pm - Premier)
Referee : Ian Stokes
The Saints went down to Drogheda last time out but could have at least salvaged a draw from that game. Pats should have a near full strength squad to call from but again it remains to be seen when John McDonnell elects to use players such as Colm Foley, Chris Arsmtrong and Stephen Caffrey who are all returning from injuries.
In Armstrong and Foley's case, they've both played for the first team since returning from serious injuries but both have been building up their match-fitness.
Bohs slipped to defeat in a controversial and poor match against Derry last Friday. Currently eighth in the table they need to start winning consistently if they are to get involved in even a battle for a top six finish.
Thomas Heary is suspended for Bohemians after his red card against Derry last Friday. Mark Leech could make his debut at some stage after joining on loan from Drogheda while Paul Devlin will be pushing for involvement too after a brief late showing in the loss to Derry. Kevin Hunt should take Heary's place in the starting eleven.
League form for St. Patricks Athletic : LWLDW
League form for Bohemians : LWDLL
Previous meeting(s) : Bohemians 0-0 St. Patricks Athletic (14/04/2006)

Preview: Waterford United v Sligo Rovers

Waterford United will hope that recent changes in playing personnel will help them as they look to pick up some much needed points on Friday night. However, Sligo Rovers are the visitors to the RSC and are one of the form teams in the league.
Waterford United vs Sligo Rovers
(R.S.C. - 7:45 pm - Premier)
Referee : Mark Gough
Waterford have lost their last eight league games although manager Mike Kerley has definitely made attempts this week to liven up his squad. Alan Reynolds, goalkeeper Ben Spicer and Mitchell Casey have all joined the club while James Chambers' loan deal from Shelbourne has been extended to the end of the season. Alan O'Shea, Lloyd Colfer and Paul Ometeso were all released since Waterford's last league game, the loss to Bohemians at the end of June.
Unsurprisingly, Waterford are still bottom of the Premier Division in the eircom League and they have not won in any of their 15 league games this year. Highlighting the poor record, they have the worst attacking record (just nine goals - half of Sligo's tally) and have conceded the most (30 - just one less than the top four sides combined).
Sligo Rovers could hand a debut to Harpal Singh who has completed his move to the "Bit O' Red".
Paul McTiernan is out after going off injured in the win over Dublin City with Keith Foy also set to miss out with a knee problem.
League form for Waterford United : LLLLL
League form for Sligo Rovers : WLWWW
Previous meeting(s) : Sligo Rovers 3-1 Waterford United (15/04/2006)

Nice to see you PTDSEI but it seems that Bohemians are big trouble for Pats.
H2H looks realy poor for Pats with last league win in 2003 season.

Re: Irish Premier League: 14th-16th July

Not much confidence on the favourite' tag for Shels and Limerick. Will probably watch in running to see if either team get over their own internal challenges and get behind their team and fans.

Pat's past record does not bode well for this fixture but having said that personnel have have changed for 2006 and perhaps this would be a good time to end that hoodoo with Boh's...? I'd venture a small punt on St. Pat too. Must be the South East Asian air...!!!
P.S. PTDSEI, don't go wandering around dark beaches when pasted...!

I fancy Sligo away as well... If you cannot win away to the weakest team in the league by at least 1 goal, then you do not deserve to even dream of an Inter-Toto spot... Again... small punt on Sligo.
