Parana - Santos

On the first look this is one of the nut braker games in Brasiliero. Well Parana is in superb condition: they have 7-2-1 form in last 10 games, but they had pretty light scheudle so far. No Sao Paolo, or International in that games. Now they have real test, because they are hosting excellent Santos side in sunday, and they will be without 5 players for that encounder. Goalkeeper Flavio, Goiano and Beto are all injured, and Serginho and Batista are suspended and coach Caio Júnior can't count on them.

On the other side Santos after few bad games now have 3 wins in a row (true last win was with a lot of luck), and their coach Luxemburgo see here ideal opportunity to climb little more in table. H2H is pretty much equal, in last 6 games 2-2-2 with goal difference 12:6 in Santos favour.

Probable squads:
PARANÁ 3-5-2
Marcos Leandro;
Gustavo, Edmilson, Emerson;
Ángelo, Pierre, Felipe Alves, Sandro, Edinho;
Maicosuel, Leonardo.

Técnico: Caio Júnior

SANTOS 3-5-2
Fábio Costa
Domingos, Ronaldo, Luiz Alberto
Dênis, Wendel, Cléber Santana, André, Kléber
Jonas e Wellington Paulista

Técnico: Vanderlei Luxemburgo

flamengo game is played in maracana. they are already familiar with the stadium never losing any games played there so far (i guess). ponte preta defence is leaking and flamengo would be after the 3 pts wanting it more.
flamengo have not been impressive but they are getting their game together.

ponte preta is a home team, their away games are unimpressive losing heavily. i think flamengo would just nick it here perhaps with a 1-0 or 2-1 win.

Corinthians vs Figueirense 1@1.75

Champions got their team together, they got the game and they are on their way up, where they BELONG. Home win - no doubt

Salex I'd like to welcome you to TDP but posts like these are NOT ACCEPTABLE. Using language like 'home win -no doubt' without any explanation is not welcomed.

Corinthians may well win the match but you have neglected to mention that they are bottom of the Brazilian championship and have a record of W2 D1 L7 in their last 10 games. I understand Figgueirense will be at full strength tonight.

If you post shite again I'll delete it

Raven knows what he is talking

Timao squad is in all kind of problems:
1. Players fight on tringing ground
2. Argentinian players want to move to Europe (both Tevez and Mascherano linked with Man.utd in recent weeks) so they are nervous
3. Some injuries also (Nilmar).... etc.

With that on mind @1.75 offered on Timao win is INSULT in my book, even if they win 5-0

Re: Brasiliero 12-13.08.2006

Hope I'm not inviting flames my way...

Given the way the games have gone tonight, I would not be surprised if the Timao players decide to put up a good show... not so much for the club...

More for their OWN meal tickets... Tevez and co might just decide to put on a zinger or two so that clubs like MU DO actually make a bid...?

Somehow, some teams do decide to turn up when the shite hits the fan.

Teams with class and tradition do have a tendency for that... Would the Brazil specialists rate Corinthians one of the top 3 class and power teams in Seria A there...?

If they are, then maybe its time for some saving grace...?

Having blabbered all that... From an advisory point of view, I would still recommend that punters who can should watch in running for the first 10 minutes to see if they are playing for their next transfer... then make the call... else just go to bed..! :-)

Good Luck and Goodnight all... ;-)

Still smarting from accumulator going tits up with a 91st. minute goal vs Lyon. Sigh...

Hi EdgeSeek, everyone's opinion is welcome here as long is you give some reasoning which you have done .

However it's not ok to use language like 'banker' or 'sure home win' with no explanation whatsoever.

Good luck with your picks.

I'm not a 'Brazil specialist' but on all the recent evidence - absolutely not. The Corins situation is unfathomable, imo.

Re: Brasiliero 12-13.08.2006

Someone knows a place when I can see the lineups/injuries/suspensions for today? Probably not in English but it's better than nothing.

I am very interested in Cruzeiro - Fluminense match. Important missing in both teams? Thank you!
