Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
some early thoughts w/o looking team new, suspended players etc...
R.Madrid won twice last season in Sevilla(one cup game),actually as far as I remember in league game, both teams had a lot of injured players, and it was shitty game to watch, poor performance in every aspect of the game
Madrid didn't convince to anybody with their performance so far,Betis played good game against Sevilla, they could easily be 3-2 up instead of losing at the end...1-1 is their favourite result:
http://www.betexplorer.com/soccer/sp...atchid=6121526
anyone on Levante?
Rodolfo Bodipo breaks knee ligaments, and he will be out between 6-8 months...that leaves Deportivo w/o too much options in attack....Capdevilla scored both goals in previous round vs Villareal, and before that they played against Mallorca and didn't create any chance..
Villareal, major dissapointment so far in the season, altough Zaragoza win against 10 men Mallorca last round,it wasn't that easy,h2h too many draws in Madrigal

Tristan could make his debut this weekend against Espanol, this is a tricky game in my opinion, can go in either ways,i will leave this alone
Celta are usually strong at home, both teams are playing their return legs in uefa cup next week, maybe their minds occupied with that games,h2h looks good for home side, still think that Celta can grab all 3 points here

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
Early thoughts, can't believe Getafe are evens at home to Bilbao (Sporting Odds). Already got 4pts on, and may add more unless I see some pretty convincing team news to put me off it. Tricky week elsewhere in the Primera, not much else grabs my attention. Possibly Betis, will wait and see.
In the Segunda my (not so) short list currently consists of Albacete, Elche, Castellón, Xerez, Salamanca and Ciudad de Murcia.
Will look closer into this over the weekend.

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
I have to agree with RC, Getafe look worth a wager against Bilbao.Etxeberria has had problems with his back so not sure if he plays while Murillo (def) and Yeste (mid) both carrying knocks.
Levante look lightweight upfront, and with the Depor forwards firing blanks too, this could be a low scoring game.
0-0 @ 8.5
Under 2.5 at 1.65
Half with most goals the tie is 3.50 @ bet365 are possible wagers.
Capdevile (def) topscorer for Depor with 2 at the mo,is avaliable at 20's and 5's to score anytime, for thoose who play the first/last goalscorer market, might be worth a look.

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
according to elmundo and marca there is great posibility that R.Carlos,Raul and Salgado will miss Betis game due to injuries...that leaves Madrid with cicinho like RB,who didn't play well against Lyon and have offensive thoughts in his mind and i dunno who will play like lb,maybe Raul Bravo, who didn't play in that position ,let's say 2 years :loon

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
No time for much of a write up today, but just a few comments
ESPN's predicted line-ups for tonight's game:
BETIS: Doblas; Melli, Juanito, Nano, Romero; Maldonado, Vogel, Rivera, Wagner; Edu and Sobis.
REAL MADRID: Casillas; Cicinho, Sergio Ramos, Cannavaro, Raúl Bravo; Emerson, Diarra; Reyes, Cassano, Guti; and Van Nistelrooy
Fancy Betis to get something from that game, I think, but not one I'll be betting on.
Will be on Xerez to beat Valladolid in tomorrow's lunchtime kick-off in the Segunda. Xerez have started the season on fire, 4 wins from 4, 10 scored and none conceded. Valladolid made a decent start, winning their first 2, but have since stumbled, losing their last two games (I'm not including the cup in any of these stats, as most teams put out reserves, so it's not worth reading too much into any of the results there). Xerez have no new selection worries, and are expected to name an unchanged side, although the manager said he may consider making one change, but no more.
Xerez (-0.5) v Valladolid 3pts @ 1.95
Also think that Albacete and Ciudad de Murcia should be too strong for Vecindario and Ponferradina respectively (both have a 100% record at home, albeit only after 2 games, while the visitors both have a 100% losing away record, and have yet to score away from home). Not much team news about on those ones at the moment though, so will probably wait until tomrrow on those.

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
RC i like thet price for Xerez but h2h is sometyhing thet put me off ....3 draw so far....
Xerez CD Real Valladolid 0:0 Sun 30-10-2005
Xerez CD Real Valladolid 1:1 Wed 31-08-2005
Xerez CD Real Valladolid 0:0 Sun 06-03-2005
maybe one more scoreless draw?
I think Malaga could take all 3 point away at Gijon......
Maybe home win for Las Palmas? it`s about time for that....
Almeria is playing awful right now and they are very poor away team so Castellon should be able to get 3 points from this game....
Over should be good bet for Numancia-Real B, both teams with problems in difence and if this game end up something like 3-1 or 4-2 shouldn’t be a surprise......

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
Just recently from totalctrl:
Getafe 8 VIVAR DORADO Angel Manuel AMRC ** 26.8 INJURED - / 3
Getafe 12 LICHT Lucas DL ** 23.9 BACK from injury 1 / 3
Getafe 16 ALBÍN Juan AMLC * 9.9 INJURED - / 3
Getafe 23 TENA Manuel DC * 9.9 OUT - / 3
Athletic 3 CASAS Javier DL ** 16.9 INJURED 2 / 3
Athletic 16 ORBAIZ Pablo DMC ** 23.9 BACK from injury 1 / 3
Athletic 17 ETXEBERRIA Joseba AMR *** 23.9 INJURED 2 / 3
Athletic 18 GURPEGI Carlos DMC *** 26.8 INJURED - / 3
Athletic 20 URZAIZ Ismael SC ** 23.9 OUT 1 / 3
I cannot believe this! 2 key players injured for Atl bilbao.
Given that and the terrific difference of forms between the two teams, home advantage and Atletico bad away performance, Getafe at 2.04 seems huge value to me.

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
Thanks for that Avok. Nothing there to put me off backing Getafe.
Igor, I'd be a bit wary of backing against Almeria. They deserved their win against Cadiz last weekend, hanging on despite ending the game with 9 men. Castellon have also got doubts over leading scorer Tabares, he's struggling with injury, and has said he'd may be better not to play and risk making the injury worse.
As for the H2H between Xerez and Valladolid, one of those was the cup, so I wouldn't read too much into that game. Wouldn't rule out a draw in this game tomorrow, but I think the price is good enough on Xerez to make them worth backing.
Also quite tempted by Valencia X2 away to Barcelona. Valencia haven't lost at the Camp Nou since 2001, they've won 2 and drawn 3 of their last 5 games there. 2.375 available for Valencia not to lose this one, will think on that one overnight.

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
Two more for today for the moment, I fancy Elche to get something from Las Palmas. Elche have quite a few players out injured - Bouchard, Alberto Ruiz, Suarez and Pérez, but all of those bar Pérez missed out last week too, when they beat Sporting 1-0. They have Mario Gómez back from injury, while Pere Martí is available, although he hasn't been training all week.
Las Palmas will be without Nacho González, their first choice keeper so far this season, although it seems they were already considering making a change anyway, so his injury just settled the issue for them. Pindado will come in for his league debut. They'll also be without Arriaga up front.
I think Elche are in a bit of a false position, they've put in some decent performances, but lapses in concentration have cost them. They got a draw at Alaves, and only lost 3-2 at Numancia, after throwing away a 2-1 lead. They've scored in all 4 games so far this season, and if they can cut out the defensive mistakes (and they've kept 2 successive clean sheets now, although one of them was in the cup), they stand a good chance in this one.
Las Palmas have only managed to score in one (league) game so far, a 2-1 win over Lorca, conceding 7 in those 4 games, and their last league game saw them produce a terrible performance, going down 3-0 to fellow new-boys Ponferradina, and according to the reports it could've been an even heavier defeat.
Las Palmas v Elche (DNB) @ 2.37 2pts
And one more bet for today in the Segunda - Ciudad de Murcia to beat Ponferradina. CdM don't have any new selection problems, although they're still without long-term injury victim Assemoassa. Ponferradina will be without Toñin and Nacho. CdM are yet to concede at home this season, while Ponferradina are yet to score away. "AS" points out that Ponferradina have had a lot of travelling, with a 1000 mile round trip to Elche and back on Wednesday followed by another 500 mile trip down to Murcia this weekend. 15 players in this weekend's squad were involved in the trip to Elche, and tiredness may be an issue for them after so much travelling.
CdM's manager has said he prefers playing against the so-called bigger teams, as there's less pressure, he thinks games like this are a potential banana skin. However, if CdM are to have any chance of repeating last season's 4th place (they only missed promotion to the Primera by 2 points), these are the kind of games they have to be winning.
Ciudad de Murcia v Ponferradina @ 1.80 3pts

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
Nothing specific to put me off Albacete, Johnny, just a bit too short a price and a nagging doubt in the back of my mind somewhere. They should win this one, but I prefer the other options I think.

Re: Spanish football 23-24 September
don't have too much time for explanation, will post my picks for today's matches:
i see a great value in Atl.Madrid-Sevilla ,home win ,odds are around 2.55,which are great in my opiniuon,i know Sevilla are in unbeaten streak of around 12-13 games, and Atletico had problems playing in front of their fans, but what encouraging me is their latest performance against Bilbao, they trashed them properly 4-1 in San Mames,w/o Torres, today he is back in the squad and with Aguero,Maxi,Petrov in the squad they can beat anyone,i'm on Atletico tonight
on the other games, fancy home wins for Celta(they are very strong team especially at home),Villareal,Barca maybe, but it will be close match,i like Levante also, maybe 1x is safest bet
Getafe-bilbao is no bet for me,Bilbao is out of form, but still i will leave this out..
have a feeling that Santander can grab something against Gimnastic, but too hard to call
