Have
Bet365 stopped doing the Monday night games? They've not got this one up, and they didn't have last week's one either
Anyway, think Amiens are a decent price tonight. Bastia have quite a few players missing at the moment, they're without first choice keeper Leca (8 matches played), defenders Maire (9 played) and Laville (only 1 game played, but is actually an important player, played the first game of the season and scored, then got injured and hasn't played since), striker Meslin (8 played, 4 goals), plus a couple of other players who have been involved little if at all this season (Dolci and Lorenzi). Then there's captain Pierre-Yves André (striker, 5 played, 2 goals) whose wife has just given birth. From the reports it's not clear whether he'll actually be involved or not. L'Equipe seems to think he won't be, while according to the Bastia official site, they've taken a 15-man squad to Amiens. That would mean only 4 players on the bench, which surely can't be right, if André was definitely going to miss out surely they'd just take someone else instead? As a result I'm not sure whether that means he may be joining up with the squad later - presumably (for the purposes of fucking up this bet I've just placed), he'll now return to join the squad this afternoon before scoring the winning goal tonight and promptly doing one of those "rock the cradle" type goal celebrations
Anyway, even if he does play, I still fancy Amiens here. Their home record isn't all that great so far (1-2-1), but you have to take into account that they've played Strasbourg (and beat them, the only team to do so this season to date), drew with Caen (2nd in the league and unbeaten this season) and Libourne (12th), and lost to Grenoble (3rd), so they've had some tough games so far. The mood in the camp seems to have improved following their win away to Istres last weekend, as mentioned by manager Ludovic Batelli in an interview on their website:
Quote:
Obviously the win against Istres has invigorated us. The week has been a happier one. ...
Things are easier when you win. But we need to build on this win and therefore we need to take the three points

Bastia meanwhile have been in terrible form away from home, although to be fair, they too have had some tough games. They've lost their last 3, away to Caen and Metz (the top 2), plus a 4-0 thrashing last time out away to Montpellier (14th). They won their last game 4-1 at home to Niort, but they don't seem to be carrying their home form over into away games at the moment.
Amiens @ 2.5 for me tonight.
