It’s been always difficult for managers to work for big Istanbul teams especially for Fenerbahce. Unfortunately, the Turkish press thinks that they know football much more than “any other” managers. So, the managers of Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Besiktas have been criticized mercilessly for years no matter who they are ( Christof Daum, Jean Tigana, Eric Gerets, Zico, Fatih Terim, Del Bosque are some of them). They always work under too much pressure. I read somewhere a few days ago that the German press asked Joachim Löw ( German national team manager, you know) that “Aren’t you afraid of being criticized and the pressure on you?” He answered : “ I have worked for Fenerbahce.”

Out of Istanbul , it’s easy for managers to work for any team. Zorlu Holding owns Vestel Manisa and they are one of the biggest group in Turkey. Although manager Ersun Yanal is criticized they don’t interfere his work. That’s why they are on top now.
