Re: Calling Irish & English Football Punters

Looks like 5 players have come from Ireland out of that lot. Information is scarce, but I have found some....

W Knights

Barry Wood signed from Kilkenny (Ireland)

No Information found as Kilkenny don't currently have a website. They do have a decent forum though so I'll pop by later on and ask them for some info.

Stirling Lions

Jordan Conti signed from Crusaders (Northern Ireland)

No information found, although Crusaders do have a very good website.

Paul Dickson signed from Crusaders (Northern Ireland)

Defender Age 21

The Colts Player of the Year in 2002 went on to collect the Reserve Team Player of the Year award in 2003. Made his first-team debut against Chimney Corner in the County Antrim Shield at Seaview in October 2002. Normally operates at right-back or right-side of midfield and is always willing to have a shot at goal. Scored his first senior goal in a County Antrim Shield tie v Bangor in October 2003.

Aaron McKee signed from Crusaders (Northern Ireland)

Midfielder Age 21

Joined Crusaders in August 2004 after nearly four years on the books at Linfield. Impressed in pre-season games and used in a more forward role at the start of the season by Crues boss Aaln Dornan. Scored on his Crues debut against Loughgall on August 14 and duly picked up the CIS Cup man of the match award after the final whistle. Former Northern Ireland U18
Schools international who is the son of former Irish League player Stephen McKee.

David Murphy signed from Ards (Northern Ireland)

Defender

Used as a right back/right wing back for Ards last season. He made 9 appearances for Ards last season, 5 of them as a substitute.

Great work making sense of it all Daikoku. Seemed a fruitless exercise but we're better for the experience

Played for my team Waterford Utd for about 3-4 years before joining Kilkenny.
He's Scottish and I think we signed him from Livingston (not sure though)
Only ever scored about 3 or 4 league goals for us altogether. Once scored a cracker in a 1-0 away win v Bohs about 5 years ago which I heard would've been goal of the season but there were no TV cameras present. Scored his only other goal that season in a 2-1 home defeat to Derry. Actually I think they were his only goals in the eircom Premier. He may have scored about 2 for us in the 1st division, in an end of season meaningless game against Home Farm IIRC.
He had a bit of a cult following at WUFC but for the wrong reasons. Loadsa jokes about how he was keeping the groundsmen busy with the way he spent whole games warming up, tearing up and down the touchline, but only ever coming on for maybe the last 10 minutes if at all. Always got the crowd excited with his running, but mostly he was running like a headless chicken. If he was good enough, he'd still be with us (or he wouldn't have gone to Kilkenny anyway). Maybe if the Aussie league is less physical he might make an impact, he's fairly scrawny so never really made an impact in the eircom premier.
