Re: Spain 5/6 May

Real look appealing to me i have to admit.

Im impressed most times i see them play these days. Capello has slowly but surely turned them around and for me they are playing their best football of the season.

More of a together-ness with the team now.

Beckham back is a boost - played excellent away to Bilbao.

I know Sevilla are doing well and ive only seen them a handful of times and it just happens they havent played well in any of the games so im obviously not too big a fan of them.

2.00+ for the home win i will certainly have some of!

How poor a side are Gimnastic? I really think Levante are a terrible side and was surprised to see how short they were?

Beckham's supposed to be banned this week, although last I heard Madrid were planning to appeal, don't know whether they have or not.

Not sure where you got that from, Junior Madrid B are 7-4-7 at home for the season, and have only won 2 of their last 9 home games.

As for team news, Sergio Diaz and Nieto are both back in training, although the report doesn't mention whether they'll be available for selection this weekend or not. Javi Garcia is suspended, but Adrian Gonzalez and Marcos Tébar return from suspension.

Madrid v Sevilla preview from The Guardian http://football.guardian.co.uk/break...604789,00.html

Quote:
Real Madrid are convinced they can knock Sevilla out of the title race and take over at the top of the Primera Liga by beating them at the Bernabeu on Sunday.
Morale is sky-high at Real after their 4-1 win at Athletic Bilbao last weekend.
They are confident that a faltering Barcelona will slip up on their trip to relegation-threatened Real Sociedad on Saturday and hand Real the chance to snatch top spot at a crucial stage of the season.
"We are stronger than anyone else at the moment and we showed that with our win at San Mames," Real right back Cicinho said this week.
"Barcelona have been giving a sensation of weakness recently and I think they will lose at Anoeta. We will beat Sevilla and once we get to the top no one will shift us from there."
Just two points separate the top three with six games left. Barca, who are looking to wrap up a third title in a row, lead on 62 points, Sevilla follow on 61 and Real have 60.
"The title race is turning out to be very tight and very exciting," Real striker Ruud van Nistelrooy said after taking his tally for the season to 18 goals with a double in last week's win at Bilbao.
"It is clear that the game against Sevilla is crucial, but if we play at this level we can beat them and win the title."
Real are, however, likely to be missing David Beckham who has played a decisive role in their last two victories.

BECKHAM APPEAL
The former England captain is suspended after picking up a booking for time-wasting last week, but the club have launched an appeal to have the card overturned so that he can play in Sunday's match.
While Real have been talking up their title chances, Sevilla have had their minds on defending their UEFA Cup crown.
Juande Ramos's side face Osasuna in the return leg of their semi-final on Thursday and only then will they turn their attention to the clash at the Bernabeu.
"If we go through against Osasuna it will be a great confidence boost and if not then we will be putting everything into winning the league," said striker Frederic Kanoute. "Either way we will be 100 percent against Real."
Despite scoring just twice in their last four games and winning only one of their last 10 away matches, Barcelona insist they are not cracking under the pressure.
"This team has been winning things for the last three seasons and we will win the league and the (King's) Cup this season," Brazilian midfielder Edmilson told a news conference on Wednesday.
"We are focused on the games that are left to play and our objective is to get three points from every one of them. If we win them we will be champions."
Although Sociedad have made a strong bid to save themselves from the drop, they are still three points from safety, but coach Miguel Angel Lotina believes that Barca are not as strong as they have been in past seasons.
"Two years ago we were all talking about Barca's hunger for trophies, but we are all human and maybe subconsciously they don't have that hunger any more," he told daily Sport.

Re: Spain 5/6 May

Thanks Mhaymovi

Junior, fully agree with you on the Sociedad one, and I'll likely be on Sociedad myself in some form. Barca are looking shaky and Sociedad are in reasonably good form with 4 wins and a draw from their last 7 games.

Beckham's appeal has been successful, and he'll be available for the game against Sevilla.

This weekend's suspensions (taken from the Spanish FA site, as the league site still hasn't updated them from last week):

Primera:

Albelda Aliques “ALBELDA” (Valencia)
Paredes Arango “PAREDES” (Getafe)
Moreno Verdú “JOSICO” (Villarreal)
Pinillos Caro “PINILLOS” (Rácing)
Rubiales Béjar “RUBIALES” (Levante)
“SEITARIDIS” (At. Madrid)
Rivas Alvaro “NANO” (Betis)

Segunda:

García Fernández “JAVI GARCIA” (Real Madrid – Castilla)
Sánchez Pérez “JORGE SANCHEZ” (Lorca Deportiva)
Zahiños Sánchez "ZAHIÑOS" (Albacete)
Borrero Carpintero "BORRERO" (Vecindario)
García Badías “CARLOS GARCIA” (Almería)
“LACEN” (Alavés)

Souza Rezende “SOUZA” (Salamanca)
Molinero Calderón “MOLINERO” (Málaga)
Ariadela Acasiete “ACASIETE” (Almería)

Re: Spain 5/6 May

Real Sociedad v Barcelona
Great price on Sociedad but i think that Barca will win this game with plenty of goals....
H2H:Sociedad won just once at home in last nine years:1-3-4

Betis - Getafe
I fancy Betis in this match and under 1,5

Real Madrid – Sevila
I think this one is going to be a goal fest..

Espanyol - Atletico Madrid
When Atletico is involved under is always good bet but i fancy draw also.

Huelva - Bilbao
I love Huelva this season but this time I’m going with Bilbao@4.00 is too big price ,also in this match should be plenty of goals.

Levante - Gimnástic
Levante@1.65 this a joke right?
Gimnastic are shit but Levante is in the same class, one or two goals max in this game.....

La Coruna - Valencia
Valencia favorite? I don`t think so....
La Coruna is solid home team and Valencia is struggling all year in away games, motivation could be big factor becouse La Coruna is relax but still i think that Valencia is not going to win this game.

Villarreal - Celta Vigo
Celta are shit,period....
Crazy Bulgarian won first game but in the next two they received 5 goals without scoring ,it seems like they love to play in Secunda next season.
If team news are good i could go with Villarreal.

Zaragoza - Santander
Both teams in great form i fancy Zaragoza but shity odds

Re: Spain 5/6 May

Right, I'll just copy Igor's layout here

Real Sociedad v Barcelona
Think the price on Sociedad is far too big. Barca struggling for goals, and Deco will be a big loss for them. Obviously they still stand a good chance of winning, but I wouldn't touch them with someone else's money @ 1.53. Definitely think I'll be on Sociedad in some form, possibly 1X

Betis - Getafe
Can't argue with Igor's comments. Betis are also on my shortlist

Real Madrid – Sevila
Not sure about a goal fest here, Sevilla have been struggling for goals away from home lately in the league. Having backed Sevilla @ 100/1 e/w for the title pre-season (yes, that's down in writing on this forum somewhere, before I get accused of anything ), I'd love to see them get at least a point here. Unfortunately, I'm not convinced they're going to manage it. Madrid in fine form, and I'd make them favourites, although there is still that nagging voice in my head reminding me that Madrid are overdue another fuck up.

Espanyol - Atletico Madrid
Think Atletico may be playing here just at the right time, Espanyol have nothing to play for in the league and their minds may well be on other things. Will have to check team news though, if I remember rightly both Torres and Leo Franco went off injured last weekend, if they're both out it'll be a blow for Atletico.

Huelva - Bilbao
No idea .

Levante - Gimnástic
Nastic are on my shortlist. As Igor and Kiko have both said, Levante are a poor side, Nastic no better really, but they've had a few impressive results recently, and it's a very nice price on them.

La Coruna - Valencia
Tough one. I'd make Valencia marginal favourites, but don't really think this is one for betting on.

Villarreal - Celta Vigo
I don't trust Celta. The price is tempting me on Villarreal, but I don't like betting on Celta games generally.

Zaragoza - Santander
Agree with Igor that the odds on Zaragoza are terrible. Racing just showing slight signs of a blip, but I still think they're maybe capable of getting a result here.

And in the Segunda:

Albacete v Sporting Gijon
Albacete have drawn 3 in a row, Sporting 4 in a row. Wouldn't rule out another one here, I guess.

CD Alaves v Las Palmas
Both getting sucked deeper and deeper into relegation trouble. Would just about give Alaves the edge, but won't be betting on them.

Hercules v Ciudad de Murcia
Ciudad's season's gone a bit topsy-turvy now they've nothing to play for - they've suddenly started dropping points at home and winning games away. This is a nothing game though, nothing of interest betting wise for me.

Murcia v Lorca
Local derby, this one, will have to have a look and see if I can find out how "friendly" the two sides are. Murcia are promoted, not yet mathematically confirmed but they're 15pts clear of 4th with 7 games left. Lorca 11pts from safety, so desperately need the points. If the two teams are friendly, there's no way I'd be backing Murcia at 1.4 :wasntme

Numancia v Salamanca
Another nothing game

Real Madrid B v Malaga
Tricky one to call, but if you were to put a gun to my head and force me to choose, I'd just about give Malaga the edge - only 1 defeat in their last 6, and that was 1-0 away to Valladolid. Could be tempted on Malaga, although Madrid B are pretty erratic, they're a very frustrating team, but they're well capable of winning this one.

Vecindario v Elche
Vecindario are mathematically down if they lose this, or if they draw and Alaves get at least a draw. Would've given Elche the edge, but a defeat at Lorca at the end of March is slightly off-putting. Depending on team news, I could even be persuaded to think Vecindario may go out with a bang and get a win here.

Almeria v Valladolid
Valladolid already promoted, just playing for the title and to protect their unbeaten record now. Almeria, like Murcia, not mathematically promoted, but there's no way they'll be caught now. Almeria 14-2-1 at home for the season, and that defeat was on the opening day. Odds of around 2.5 look pretty tempting to me, I think they'd be keen to be the ones to take the scalp of Valladolid after such a long unbeaten run, and I think they're one of the few teams in the division capable of doing that. A win would also leave them in with an outside chance of the title (they'd be 8pts behind with 7 games left). However, one of the players I've been most impressed with this season, Acasiete, is out for them, which is a blow. Will have to think on this one, but am interested in Almeria.

Cadiz v Xerez
Another nothing game

Castellon v Poli Ejido
Castellon 7 games unbeaten, 4 straight defeats for Poli Ejido. Neither side completely clear of relegation trouble yet. Unless there's anything bad in the team news, I'll be on Castellon here.

Tenerife v Ponferradina
Just 2 defeats in their last 8 for Tenerife, away to Ciudad de Murcia and home to Valladolid, no shame in either of those. Clear favourites, but I wouldn't want to be backing them at such a short price against a team much more desperate for the points than they are.

Re: Spain 5/6 May

Hang on, there's a game missing in there

Mallorca v Osasuna:

Just 2 wins in their last 14 for Osasuna, and their morale won't have been helped by last night's defeat to Sevilla in the UEFA Cup. Mallorca meanwhile have won their last 6 in a row at home. Evens or better on Mallorca looks pretty good to me at first glance.

Re: Spain 5/6 May

layout as usual
R.Sociedad-Barcelona-can't argue about this one, price is ridicilous for Barca, only one away win in last 5-6months in primera, only 1 win and 4 losses in last 5 away games, sociedad are playing good lately and are fighting for survival,Edmilson is back in the squad and he will probably play in midfield with Xavi&Iniesta, still think that barca can grab all 3 points here, but i will stay away from this one

Zaragoza-Racing-i will go for home win here,Zaragoza have 5 wins in a row at home, only 2 points behind Valencia and CL spot,it's great chance for them,i feel they are capable beating Racing, both teams are in great form in last 10 games,5 wins 4 draws and 1 loss,i consider Zaragoza one of the best sides in Spain when they are playing in front of their fans, home win and over here

Betis-Getafe-everything is already said,i'm on betis too, just hope that this time they won't screwed me like they usualy do when i backed them

other games looks very dangerous to bet on,maybe 'Nastic because price is very good,Villareal very strong at home, and why not Deportivo,i wasn't impressed with Valencia at all last two games they played
