Nottingham Horse Racing Tips 9th May 08

May 9, 2008

Donald Keys chuckles at the thought of being paid to write these tips Nottingham isn’t just about gun crime and teenage pregnancy. There’s also racing and a lovely, relaxing day out. Perhaps after being shot by an angry father. Last time I was there it was: Left Handed. Flat. Favours galloping horses. Draw favours high numbers in sprints. Take note as you will be tested throughout the day. Not really but I don’t want you relaxing. Gambling isn’t all a big laugh.

If you want to discuss horse racing betting or add your own betting tips and picks, head over to the racing forum now. They do a lovely buffet. No time to chat though. It may still be morning but I find when I start rambling it very quickly becomes afternoon. Fruesurthday racing here I come. Let’s crack on.

1.30 Tricky, but possibilities here for a place at okay odds. I’ll be looking at impossibilities though. Just let me get my darts out. I’m staying clear of Provence anyway @ 2.44. What’s touching my hunch? Hmm. Let’s gamble a bit on Actabou @ 25/1 with skybet and 29.00’s betfair. The draw is against it but anything can happen with a bit of black magic. Yes, I dabble a little. Also Sister Moonshine @ 16/1 with Betfred. It really is hunchuition with those two but it seldom lets me down. By seldom I mean always.

2.00 This is going to be a bad day. I can feel it already. Again, I’m not touching Art Princess at short odds. Instead I’m looking to Readily to do something solid if unspectacular. 8.2 @ betfair isn’t overly horrendous. Also Voulez Vous @ 7/1 bet365, skybet etc. and 8.4 betfair - in with a shout of doing something which might not displease me.

2.30 I could probably pick 8 or 9 from this but…  Kiribati King is @ 10/1 with ladbrokes and there’s a chance of placing according to my mystical gut hunch gunch. Io was interesting and may still be but just not to me as I don’t have time now to think about it. Balls. Peppers Ghost @ 42.00 betfair - it doesn’t look the shittiest really. Run the right way, place potential. Or not. I’ll say, yes. Or not.

3.00 It’s a lottery and I love it. Sforzando e/w 33/1 @ vcbet - it doesn’t hate Nottingham so let’s hope the little extra feeling of love and  joy can carry it ahead of most of the others.  Aypeeyes 14/1 betfred e/w and let’s move on. This is dire isn’t it?

3.35 Salsa Time e/w 25/1 bluesq - it’s crap but I reckon crap will be good enough to be in with a chance of doing something not particularly crap. It’s the crap paradox. Or something. Let’s watch it dance it’s way to a place along with Badweia @ 5.9 betfair or 9/2 with bet365 and all the major bookmakers.

4.10 I can’t take much more of Nottingham. I’d rather be shot at quite frankly. If you think I’m taking Melodramatic @ 1.72 you can think again. Balls to that. Diamond Royal is @ 20/1 with all the bookies and I spy 50.00’s @ betfair. It may not be great but I don’t think it’s as sh*t as that. I won’t faint if it’s fighting for a place. My hunch has prepared me well for that possibility.

4.45 YES! YES! The last one at Nottingham. Roman Quintet @ 14/1 with betfred looks a nice e/w call - honest. My hunchibility factor is high here. And Kingsmait @ 7/1 with betfred again - can place. Will place. Might win. Probably none of those. Balls again. I’m adding Bold Argument @ 10/1 vcbet as it’s eating away at me.

And we’re done. Thank Fuesurthday. That was agony for me too so shut it. See you tomorrow I hope.
