Donald Keys chuckles at the thought of being paid to write these tips Have you ever heard someone say, ‘Southwell’? I have. And I laugh my tits off every damn time. Racing folk really are funny. As is this racecourse. What makes it funny is that it’s: Left Handed. Dual. All weather flat racing. National Hunt on turf is flat with sharp bends.

You all knew that didn’t you? No? Thought as much. Stifle those giggles for a bit though people as we’re getting down to serious business. It’s Southwell racing. It’s pots of gold. It’s rainbows. It’s Tuesday. Let’s crack on.

2.30 I think Figaro Flyer looks decent e/w @ 10.00’s with betfred and betfair. Needs something special for the win but we’ll see. The 11/2 @ betfred for Tilly’s Dream was of interest but I think Spoof Master could be the one to nick it. Not one to be salivating over @ 4.2 or so but, well, there you go. If things go tits up blame the other God, not this one.

3.00 Blue Empire is the one for me as I’ve spotted 13.00’s for this lovely animal @ betfair which is enough to get the old Donald Keys lips quivering. It loves running on courses with funny names. I can see it in it’s nostrils. Snort! Oh shit. It’s bulls that snort isn’t it? What do horses do? They don’t whinny out their nostrils do they? Who cares.

3.30 I’m going to overlook the obvious picks here as they just aint tempting me enough. I’m looking for a little bit of magic, or luck as some might call it, from Indian’s Feather @ 18/1 with sportingbet. It was a toss up between that and Jord. Ah, f*ck it. I’ll try them both and see what happens. Jord is currently @ 8.4 to place with betfair and Indian’s Feather 6.2. One of them will. It is Tuesday afterall. Don’t quote me on that. Any of it.

4.00 I spy Cotton Eyed Joe again. I trusted this one on Sunday and it only gave me a 3rd. I was disappointed to say the least but…. well let’s see. This is one of the tightest of the day and it’s tough to seperate them. Ok. Cotton Eyed Joe one more time @ 5.00’s with bet365. There’s form coming out the trainer’s ears. And a little fuzz.

4.30 Flying Squad is @ 10.00 on betfair and I hereby declare an e/w interest. I like this animal. I hope you like it too. It’ll put up a fight and that’s all we can ask.

5.00 I love a horse starting with a zed. I really do. It makes me think of zip, and zing, and zest and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Therefore, Zorn has to be considered @ 9.2 betfair. I’ll tell you a little secret about Zorn too. All his wins have come round here, including four at this trip in 2005 and 2006. Sssh. Mum’s the word. Or it would be normally. Today it’s.. rainbows.

I love them both. Betfred really need to work on their site though. I find those menus really fiddly and annoying. Bet365 on the other hand are just about perfect. Navigation could be improved mind. I’ll e-mail Tom. He’s in charge of navigation.

Zorn nowhere, Keys! Pathetic. Just how many times is a tipster allowed to mess up in one day? Huh? Don’t even look at me, Keys. You were good in the 80’s but this is one let down too many.
