What this Page is

Every football match where our model rates the home win, the draw or the away win as more likely than the bookmakers are pricing it. Not every fixture. Only the ones where our numbers disagree with the market. If there is no edge, the match is not here.

What 1X2 Means

1X2 is the match result market. 1 is a home win, X is a draw, 2 is an away win, settled at 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalties do not count. It is the most heavily traded market in football, which is exactly why a mispriced 1X2 line is hard to find.

Why the 1X2 Tips List is Short

Because most matches are priced correctly. Bookmakers are good at this. Our model runs every 1X2 line across 30+ leagues daily and agrees with the market on the large majority. Those matches never reach this page. What survives is the handful where the maths says the price is wrong.

That is the whole filter, and it is the difference between this page and every other list of 1x2 predictions. Other sites show all 100 fixtures ranked by confidence. A confidence ranking tells you what is likely to happen. It does not tell you whether the price is worth taking. We only publish the second thing.

How a Match Qualifies

Our model produces a probability. We turn the bookmaker's price into a probability. If ours is higher, it is a pick. If it is not, it is filtered out. Nothing else decides it.

Here is a real one, England against Argentina in the World Cup semi-final:

Too thin to publish

England win survives. Our fair price for it is 2.52 and the market pays 2.72. That extra 0.20 is the edge, and across a large number of bets like it, that gap is the only thing that makes money.

The draw shows the filter working. It is not that a draw is unlikely here. It is that 2.88 is a worse price than the draw deserves, so we pass.

We Test Against the Price You Actually Get

This is what separates a real edge from a flattering one. Take those three implied probabilities and add them: 36.8 + 34.7 + 33.3 = 104.8%. Not 100%. That extra 4.8% is the bookmaker's margin, baked into every price on the board.

Most people who compare a model to odds strip the margin out first. That gives a "fair" line and it makes every edge look bigger. England's margin-free number is 35.0%, so against that our 39.7% would be a 4.7 point edge instead of 2.9.
We do not do that. We test against 36.8%, margin included, because that is the price you can actually bet at. It is the harder test. Fewer matches pass. The ones that do have already cleared the real price, not a theoretical one no bookmaker offers.

Why You Will Not Find 94% Favourites Here

Because certainty is not value. Most lists of best football tips 1x2 are topped by a home side at 1.06 with a 94% confidence bar next to it. It looks like free money. It is not.

At 1.06 you need to win 94.3% of the time just to break even. Hit 90% of them across a season and you still lose. The confidence is real and the bet is still bad, because you are paying full price for the certainty.

Those matches are filtered off this page automatically. Not because the favourite will not win. Because there is nothing in it for you.

Why the Draw Rarely Shows Up

Draws are common but rarely mispriced in your favour. Across the last ten Premier League seasons 23% of matches finished level, and 21% in the Champions League. Bookmakers know this and price the draw tightly, so it clears our filter far less often than a home or away side.

When an X does clear, read it closely. A qualifying draw is usually a match the market has decided is one-sided and our model has not.

How These Predictions Are Built

No tipsters and no gut feel. For every fixture we take each team's recent expected goals and expected goals against, plus actual goals scored and conceded, split by home and away venue. Those run through a Poisson distribution that returns a probability for every possible scoreline. We add those into 1X2 probabilities, convert them to fair odds, then compare against the prices the major bookmakers are showing. The full method is on our how it works page.

Predictions publish about a week before kickoff and refresh as prices move. A match that qualifies on Monday may not qualify by Saturday, because the price can move to meet the model. Check again on matchday.

How to Judge This Page, and Why Hit Rate Is the Wrong Number

A value model wins less often than a favourite-picker, by design. We take prices the market has pushed out too far, and long prices lose more often than short ones. A site backing 1.20 favourites can hit 80% and still lose money. We can hit 55% and make it. Hit rate measures the wrong thing, and every site leading with it is selling comfort.

The number that settles it is return on the prices we published. Every pick and every miss is on our results page, match by match, and we are adding return on published odds to it because that is the figure that proves whether any of this works.

Are These 1X2 Tips Free?

All of them. Every pick, every probability, every price, no exceptions. No VIP tier, no locked selections, no subscription that appears after a losing run. We do not accept bets and we are not a bookmaker. Who we are and why we built it this way is on our about page.

Where to Go Next

Plenty of matches carry no 1X2 edge but a clear one somewhere else. Our BTTS tips, over/under 2.5 tips and correct score tips run the same Poisson grid against different questions, and a match rejected here often qualifies there. For multi-leg builds, the accumulator tips page combines qualifying picks. The rest of the markets sit on the betting tips hub.

Predictions are information, not advice. An edge is a long-run statement, not a promise about Saturday. Stake only what you can afford to lose and read our responsible gambling page first. 18+.
